DePaul Catholic 9 St. Peter’s Prep 2 | Non-Public A North Quarterfinal

Derek Brand’s monster home run sparked the Spartans as they keep their season alive in New Jersey’s toughest bracket. Brand’s mammoth two-run home run in the third inning kickstarted a crazy frame where third-seeded DePaul Catholic (19-6) sent 11 batters to the plate and scored seven runs. JC Pacheco, Aiden Ogando and Shane Patten all had two-RBI days in the win. Sixth-seeded St. Peter’s Prep (20-8-1) got a solo home run from Justin Perez in the loss. DePaul Catholic will go on the road next week to face Seton Hall Prep in the sectional semifinals.
