Allentown 11 Seneca 6 – Boys – South Group 2 Quarterfinal

Fifth seed Allentown advanced to the South Group 2 Semifinals with an 11-6 victory over 13th-seeded Seneca. The Red Birds got some help from Jared Jordan early who had a hat trick in the first period to give them a 7-1 lead. Towards the end of the second and throughout the third quarter, Seneca started mounting a comeback to cut it to just 9-6 heading into the fourth. However Jared Jordan along with Clayton Moench tacked on a pair scores to keep the game out of reach for the Eagles. Moench and Peter Pinto ended the day with hat tricks while Jared Jordan had four goals including his 100th career goal. Allentown will face the winner of #8 Holmdel and #1 Rumson-Fair Haven in the semifinals on 5/22. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

No. 8 St. Augustine 20 Camden Catholic 1 – Boys – Non-Public A Opening Round

David Burr and Mikey Vanaman each scored hat tricks as the Hermits overwhelmed the Irish to begin the Non-Public A playoffs. Third-seeded St. Augustine advances to face either #6 CBA or #11 Red Bank Catholic in the quarterfinals next week. JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the highlights from Richland:

Hillsborough 12 Westfield 11 – Girls – North 2 Group 4 Quarterfinal

Lisa Ross had three goals and four assists including the game winning goal with :40 seconds remaining to give the Raiders a spot in the sectional semis and a matchup with top seed Bridgewater-Raritan. The Raiders seniors had prom later that evening and rushed off the field following the win to get ready for their big night. No. 18 Eastern 16 Washington Twp. 9 – Girls – South Group 4 Quarterfinal

The top-seeded Vikings raced out to 12-3 halftime lead against the eighth-seeded Minutemaids. Ryleigh Heck, Jenna Casole, and Victoria Accardo each scored four goals to lead the way for Eastern. Toms River North 15 Monroe 7 – Girls – Central Group 4 Quarterfinal

The Toms River North Mariners advanced to the Central Jersey Group 4 Semifinals on Friday night, defeating Monroe 15-7. Selena Carrington scored the game-high with five goals. University of Pittsburgh soccer commit, Marisa Tava, scored the second highest number of goals with four. The Mariners will face Rancocas Valley on Tuesday for the Semifinal round.
