Old Tappan 3 Ramsey 1

Old Tappan pitcher Alex Kranzler outdueled Ramsey ace Will Kirk with a complete game 3-hitter, striking out 12 and walking just one to give the Golden Knights a win against the #8 ranked team in the latest state baseball poll.  Eric Cha went 3-3 with two doubles and an RBI, run and stolen base.  Kirk threw five innings giving up two earned runs and striking out nine.

Bayonne 12 St. Peter’s Prep 7

Chris Valencia picked a fine time to have the most productive day of his high school career. Valencia clobbered an inside-the-park grand slam along with an RBI double to tally five RBI in a statement win over the Marauders. Bayonne (8-2) tallied seven runs in an explosive third inning and would never look back from there. Aidan Paradine went 3-5 with an RBI single and Anthony Mancini smoked a three-run double in the win. Isaiah Ruiz and Sam Porch collected three hits each for St. Peter’s Prep (7-3) in the loss.

Hopewell Valley 6 Steinert 4

Hopewell Valley improves to 6-3 following a 6-4 comeback win over Steinert. The Bulldogs led 2-1 entering the sixth inning when a passed ball tied the game for Steinert. Jack Lambert would then put the Spartans ahead 4-2 on a two RBI double shortly after. However, Hopewell struck back in the bottom of the inning, scoring four runs on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch, a fielder’s choice and a two RBI single from Brian Tulli. Tulli went 1-3 with two RBI’s, Jayden Shin also went 1-3 with an RBI and closed the game out on the mound with a strikeout for the win.

Highland 6 Mainland 4 | Coaches vs. Cancer Classic

CJ Crowley hit a home run and finished with four RBIs to help lead the Tartans past the Mustangs. Vinny Davis also went deep, and earned the save for Highland (4-6). Freshman Luis Selles-Rodriguez allowed just one earned run in five innings of work to pick up the win. Christian Elliott, Cohen Cook and Joe Sheeran all homered for Mainland (4-5) in the loss.
