Late inning drama was the theme of the day as JSZ brings you a trio of great matchups on the diamond! Check back as the highlights are posted throughout the night!

Cherokee 11 Cherry Hill West 5 (8 Innings)

The Chiefs put together a six-run eighth inning to hand the seventh-ranked Lions their first loss of the season in an Olympic Conference showdown. Brett Chiesa led the way with a 4 RBI day, tying the game in the fifth before blowing things open in extra innings. Brett Jackson and Jordan Henriquez each knocked in a pair of runs for Cherokee (4-1). Josue Holloway finished with 2 RBIs in the loss for Cherry Hill West (7-1).

JSZ’s James Mooney has the highlights and reaction from Cherry Hill:

St. Joe’s (Mont.) 2 Ridgewood 1

A major showdown between two of the hottest teams in New Jersey ultimately turned into a pitcher’s dual between a few red-hot hurlers. Jeffrey Germosen struck out 10 over five innings and Brendan Lewis had four punchouts in two innings of relief as St. Joe’s (8-3) twirled a one-hitter to beat the reigning Group 4 state champions. The Green Knights rallied to score both runs in the top of the seventh. Ridgewood (7-1) senior Jack Power was fantastic – he notched 12 strikeouts in six full innings, but he was on the hook for those two SJR runs. St. Joe’s now holds a seven-game win streak while Ridgewood’s 17-game win streak, which dates back to last season, came to an end.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has the highlights + reaction from Bergen County:

Monroe 5 Jackson Memorial 3

Harrison Lollin launched a two run bomb to left center field with one out in the 7th inning to give Monroe a 4-3 lead and the Falcons added an insurance run on a double steal to score a big win in the Autism Awareness Challenge.  Nick Izzo hit a two run homer in the first and gave Jackson Memorial a 3-2 lead in the 6th on an RBI single.  Lollin and Izzo both had 3 RBI’s in the game.

JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights of a great Friday night showdown in North Brunswick:
