A light Friday of high school sports around the state but the JSZ team brings you two games from the diamond.  Check out the action between Cedar Creek and Lower Cape May plus Shore Regional and Matawan battle in the Shore Conference!


Shore Regional 15 Matawan 2 (5 Innings)

Ryan Barham had three hits and five RBI’s to lead a nine hit barrage and give the Blue Devils a two game sweep of the Huskies.  After Matawan scored two in the first, Shore answered with a two out rally in the second inning plating six runs.  In the 4th, Barham’s RBI triple highlighted a three run frame and a six run 5th saw Barham’s two-run double get the Blue Devils their highest offensive output of the season.

Cedar Creek 8 Lower Cape May 1

The Pirates raced out to an early five-run lead to sweep the regular season series with the Caper Tigers in a Cape-Atlantic League National Division battle. Nate Winterbottom had three hits and finished with a RBI in the victory. Colin Rueckert tossed four and one-third shutout innings, while Kyle Vanaman closed things out on the mound for Cedar Creek (7-2). Cade Heacock knocked in the lone run of the day for Lower Cape May (3-7).
