Manasquan 58 Marlboro 56 (OT) | Boys | Shore Conference Tournament Pod “A” Final

Andrew Solomon made a wide open layup with 1.4 seconds left in overtime off a feed from Ben Roy to give Manasquan a second straight Shore Conference Tournament. Andrew and his younger brother Matt, a junior on the Warriors, lost their father due to COVID-19 on February 9th. Manasquan head coach Andrew Bilodeau missed the last seven games of the season due to COVID related health issues yet Manasquan finished a perfect 12-0 season with a number of high profile wins on their resume. Roy had 21 points to lead all scorers and Jack Collins had 12 points and 11 rebounds in a gutsy performance. Marlboro rallied from a 36-26 halftime deficit to force overtime led by Jack Seilder’s 19 points and Jon Spatola’s 16. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has highlights of a game filled with great basketball and a lot of emotion.


Wildwood 67 Overbrook 58 | Boys | Tri-County Conference Tournament Pod “A” Final

Omarian McNeal and Diante Miles scored 24 points each to lead the Warriors to the inaugural Tri-County Conference Tournament championship. Seamus Fynes added 16 points in the victory for Wildwood (14-1). Jaylan Hornsby and Damian Rawls scored 18 points and 17 points respectively for the Rames (13-2) in the loss.

Colonia 80 St Thomas Aquinas 64 | Boys | GMC Tournament Karl-Anthony Towns/Jay Williams Pod Final

The Patriots were lights-out from beyond the arc to knock off familiar foe St Thomas Aquinas. Colonia netted nine three-pointers on the night to stretch their lead. The charge was led by senior guard Ruben Reyes, who finished with 25 points, 12 of which came from long range, the Patriots captured the GMC Championship to cap off their season. Tristian Jeffries had 20 points for the Trojans in the loss.

Timber Creek 46 Gloucester Catholic 38 | Girls | Tri-County Conference Tournament Pod “A” Final

The Lady Chargers completed a Cinderella run through the Tri-County Conference Tournament, knocking off the tournament’s top three seeds in succession to bring home the Pod “A” championship. Amaya Burch and Amiaya Morgan each scored 14 points to lead Timber Creek (11-3) in the victory. Angelina Barrera scored a game-high 18 points in the loss for Gloucester Catholic (12-3).

Monroe 46 St Thomas Aquinas 41 | Girls | GMC Tournament “Somogyi Family Pod” Final

Flying on a five-game win streak, the Monroe Falcons got their revenge as they downed the Trojans of St. Thomas Aquinas to win the GMC Tournament. Monroe was down by six at halftime but a late surge saw the Falcons leading by as many as 10. Rosie Regan led the Falcons with 14 point while Amarilis Shubick was the game’s leading scorer with 16 points for the Trojans in the loss.
