Morris Knolls/Hills 4 KJS United 3 (OT)
Morris Knolls earned its first win of the season with a 4–3 overtime victory over KJS United, delivering a statement road win against the defending co-op state champions. After KJS opened the scoring, the Golden Eagles responded with three unanswered goals in the first period to take control. KJS battled back to force overtime, but Brandon Strunck sealed the upset with his second goal of the night, scoring the game-winner with 38 seconds remaining in the extra frame. The win marks a breakthrough moment for Morris Knolls as it knocks off one of the state’s top programs in dramatic fashion.

Gov. Livingston 4 Middletown North 3 (OT)
The Highlanders have been tested with a tough schedule so far this season and their first win of the year was made possible thanks to the heroics of Owen Cook. Cook had a hat trick and scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give Gov. Livingston-New Providence (1-3) a rousing victory on the road. Middletown North (5-2) was shorthanded Friday with a few key players out of action, but still played a great game. Lucas Laranjeiro scored twice in the loss for the Lions.

Hun 5 St. Joseph-Metuchen 2
The Raiders are off to their best start in four seasons, putting on a show during Friday’s 6-3 win over St. Joseph Metuchen (3-3). Zachary Vallee not only scored off a falling assist from Luca Jean but added a spectacular unassisted goal less than 40 seconds later. Hun (4-2) contributed three goals in the second period to cap off the scoring. The team has now won four of their last five games after dropping their season opener.
