West Morris Central 6 Morris Knolls/Hills 3

Rhone Armijo had a two goal game and the Wolfpack scored three goals in the span of 2:48 to take a 3-1 lead on the way to knocking off the defending co-op state champs.  Tyler Hill’s goal in the third period secured the victory followed by Armijo sealing the win with an empty netter.

Hopewell Valley 2 Robbinsville 0

Blake Echternacnt turned in a brilliant performance in net to guide the Bulldogs to a season-opening victory against the Ravens in a rematch of last season’s Mercer County Tournament semifinal. Echternacnt racked up 39 saves to earn the shutout for Hopewell Valley (1-0). Gavin Nau opened the scoring in the first period, while Evan Jacob added a shorthanded goal in the third period. Tyler Wagner finished with 30 saves in his varsity debut for Robbinsville (0-1).
