JSZ brings you the finals from the Score at the Shore girls basketball tournament plus the St. John Vianney girls in their winter joust getting a tough test from the Patrick School and on the boys side Rumson-Fair Haven battling St. Peter’s Prep in the Bulldawg Classic

Rumson-Fair Haven 50 Saint Peter’s Prep 47 – Bulldawg Classic

Ian O’Connor had 25 points and 12 rebounds to give RFH a much-coveted win against a North Jersey power. RFH lost to Roselle Catholic and Saint Peter’s Prep in recent years on their home floor, but used stingy defense and gritty play to score a signature win. Red Bank Regional 56 Monmouth Regional 46 – Albert E. Martin Buc Classic

Liam Joyce and Matt Weidman scored 11 points apiece to lead the Bucs to the finals of their holiday tournament for the first time in three years. RBR will face Notre Dame in the finals on Sunday at 5pm. JSZ has the highlights from the Bucs semifinal win in Little Silver:

Saint John Vianney 50 Patrick School 39 – SJV Winter Joust

The Lancers put together a 15-3 4th quarter to hold off an upset bid from the Patrick School. Katie Hill and Madison Saint Rose scored 13 points apiece to pace SJV who fell behind seven points in the third quarter. JSZ has the highlights and post-game reaction from Holmdel:

Mainland 69 Lenape 61 – Score at the Shore Tournament

The Mainland girls basketball team won the Score at the Shore Tournament for the third time in a row on Friday. The Mustangs were behind after the first quarter, but they quickly found their groove and took the lead. Senior Claudia Mairone finished with a game-high 21 points for Mainland, while junior Kylee Watson finished with 20 points. JSZ’s Madison Bess was at Southern Regional with the full story:
