St. Benedict’s Prep 77 Paramus Catholic 47 | Boys

The Gray Bees broke out with a dunk party in Bergen County to pick up another win on the young season. St. Benedict’s Prep (2-0) had three players score in double-digits Friday night to power a hot-start to the new season. Freshman MJ Postell and Terrance Jamison each had 15 points while Jack Liz contributed 12 more. Tristan Flavien led Paramus Catholic (0-1) with 15 points in the loss.

Red Bank Catholic 50 Red Bank Regional 44 | Boys

Gavin Biasi’s three-pointer with under two minutes to go broke a 43-43 tie and the Caseys took care of the rest at the free throw line along with outstanding defense to open the season with a quality road win.  Justin Valentino gave the Bucs a 37-36 lead at the end of three with a buzzer beater and RBR built a five point lead in the fourth before the Caseys stormed back.  James Hankowski led the way with 15 for RBC while Valentino led all scorers with 16.

Rumson-Fair Haven 80 Manalapan 62 | Boys

Blake Ahmann had 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead four Bulldogs in double digits as George Sourlis made a triumphant return to the RFH bench.  Sourlis spent 30 years as Rumson’s girls basketball coach winning five state titles and returns to RFH after coaching the Red Bank Regional boys in recent years.  Luke Lydon and Clint Martin each had 15 with Casey Moore adding 11.

Lawrence 55 Notre Dame 46 | Boys

Marvin McNeil picked up right where he left off last season, delivering an impressive 18-point performance on opening night. The senior, who led the Cardinals in scoring in 2024-25, showcased his offensive firepower with some phenomenal buckets. Michael Carrick also made his presence felt, contributing 13 points and helping the Cardinals maintain a lead for most of the game. For Notre Dame, York commit Will Foley was spectacular, posting a game-high 25 points. He is now just 68 points shy of reaching 1,000 for his high school career. Lawrence top their neighboring rival, earning a big CVC win to kick off the 2025-26 season.
