St. Joe’s (Mont.) 24 Don Bosco Prep 21| Non-Public A State Championship
The Green Knights picked up their historical 20th-all time state championship Friday night to cap off a redemption tour throughout the state playoffs. Led by Nate Bailey, Lamar Best and an incredible defensive effort, St. Joe’s (10-2) turned in a second half rally to deny Don Bosco Prep (11-1) of a perfect season. Bailey and Best scored touchdowns in a 21-second span in the third quarter to give SJR the lead for good. The Green Knights’ defense came up time and time again – including a clutch fourth-down stop inside the final minute of regulation – to secure the win.

DePaul Catholic 21 Paramus Catholic 12 | Non-Public B State Championship
A week ago, Derek Zammit finished DePaul Catholic’s state semifinal game on crutches with a re-aggravated ankle injury he had been dealing with since Week 6. Fast forward seven days, and Zammit was celebrating in the stands as his three rushing touchdowns led DePaul Catholic (8-4) to back-to-back state titles, and three championships in their last four seasons. Zammit closed his high school career on top for the third time with the Spartans, overcoming a nagging injury to score all three touchdowns in the win over Paramus Catholic (6-7), who were playing in their first state final since 2016.
