Public sectional titles were up for grabs all over the state on Friday, and JSZ has action from some great games! Stick with us as the highlights are posted throughout the night.
East Orange 13 West Orange 7 | North 1 Group 5 Final
Alex Hanks’ 92-yard touchdown catch in the early stages of the fourth quarter paid dividends for the Jaguars as they won their third all-time sectional championship. Sa’eed Cole found Hanks for another touchdown in the first half and also rushed for 80 yards for fourth-seeded East Orange (9-2) in the win. West Orange (9-3) leaned heavily into the ground game with Farad Green, who had 141 yards and one touchdown in the Mountaineers’ loss. East Orange will travel to face Union City in the Group 5 state semifinal next week.

Toms River North 42 Rancocas Valley 27 | South Group 5 Final
The Mariners trailed by 13 early in the third quarter, then rattled off 35 straight points to turn the tables on the Red Devils and bring home a third-straight sectional championship. Nasir Jackson had three total touchdowns, including back-to-back pick-sixes in the fourth quarter. Cole Garrison rushed for 124 yards and three second half touchdowns for top-seeded Toms River North (12-0). Sayvien Adams finished with 324 total yards and a rushing touchdown for second-seeded Rancocas Valley (9-3). Toms River North advances to face Central champion Washington Township in the Group 5 state semifinals next week.

Washington Township 27 Atlantic City 6 | Central Group 5 Final
Jaylen Robinson had two touchdown runs and Parker Reese’s second interception of the game was a 103-yard pick six to seal Washington Township’s first section title since 1995. Cole Aquino connected with Paris Pratt on a 93-yard touchdown to give the Minutemen a 7-0 lead. Washington Township had five turnovers highlighted by four interceptions. Washington Township will square off with Toms River North in the Group 5 Semifinal.

Mainland 42 Seneca 14 | South Group 3 Final
The Mustangs captured their third straight sectional title with a convincing win over the Golden Eagles. Rocco DeBiaso fueled Mainland (9-3) on the ground with nearly 200 yards rushing and two touchdowns. John Franchini threw TD passes to Dylan Granzow and Lucas DeBiaso in the win, while Khaleeb Foster and Liam Kennedy each intercepted a pass for the Stangs. Anthony Tirico threw for a score and rushed for a TD for Seneca (8-4) in the loss. Mainland will now face Somerville in the Group 3 state semifinals next week.

Rumson-Fair Haven 34 Wall 14 | Central Group 2 Final
Owen O’Toole had three touchdown runs from short range and threw a 34-yard TD pass to Jordan Angstreich in the fourth quarter to secure RFH’s third consecutive section championship and nine in the last 14 years. Kellen Murray piled up 151 yards on the ground and scored the final touchdown of the game in the 4th. Rumson-Fair Haven (11-0) will take on Point Pleasant Boro in the Group 2 semifinals next week. RFH beat Point Boro 41-28 in Week 1.
