Hunterdon Central 5 Monroe 2 – Public “A” Quarterfinals
Alex Ahern had two goals and two assists as the Red Devils scored three times in the second period to mount a 4-0 lead and hold on to advance to the school’s first-ever hockey state semifinal. Monroe scored two girls early in the third period to get within 4-2, but Ahern’s second goal of the game closed out the scoring. JSZ has highlights and post-game reaction from Flemington Ice Arena:

Colonia 3 Clifton 0 – Public “A” Second Round
Following a 3-1 loss ninth seed Colonia came into their game with eight seed Clifton looking to advance to the quarterfinals of the Boys Public A tournament. The Patriots came out firing and took an early one nothing lead at the end of the first. Drew Galea would score a goal at 12:37 in the second and with 345 remaining in the third to help Colonial secure a 3-0 victory over Clifton. The Patriots will face number one seed Montclair on 2/25.
