Cole Velardi’s 6-1 decision at 175 pounds in the final match gave Southern the three points it needed for a 27-25 win over CBA in a dual featuring the top two teams in the Shore Conference. Trailing 12-9 at 126 pounds, Southern’s Scottie Sari was locked in a 1-1 match with CBA’s AJ Falcone before he scored a pinfall at 7:44 that caused an eruption from the capacity crowd. Conor Collins followed with a pin at 132 to give Southern 12 straight points and a 21-12 lead. CBA’s Julian George got his 100th career win at 150 pounds and Zander Silva gave the Colts a 25-24 lead after his 11-2 major decision at 165 pounds. Velardi scored three two-point takedowns to seal the win.
