Toms River North wide receiver and two time SSZ All-Zone football selection Darrion Carrington has given a verbal commitment to play Division I football in the Ivy League at Yale
Toms River North’s Darrion Carrington defines the term student-athlete. Outstanding on the gridiron and in the classroom, Carrington racked up 20 college offers including the majority of Ivy League programs and on Monday night, the two-time SSZ All-Zone wideout gave a verbal commitment to play for the Yale Bulldogs. Carrington led the Shore Conference in TD receptions with 15 and was second in receiving yards with 927. He helped the Mariners to a 22-2 record over the last two years highlighted by a 2015 South Jersey Group 5 state championship. The senior with a 5.0 weighted GPA made his announcement via social media:

Yale is coming off a 3-7 season in 2016, but beat archrival Harvard 21-14 in the Bulldogs season finale. He joins a Yale roster that features a pair of former Manalapan Braves in Dan Debner and Kyle Mullen.
