Once again, RWJBarnabas Health’s Field of Dreams lives up to its name.  Check out the great unified athletes from Toms River North and Wall play flag football in front of a great crowd in Toms River

RWJBarnabas Health Field of Dreams in Toms River was built around a simple idea: everyone deserves a place to play. Opened in 2022, the inclusive recreation complex was inspired by Christian and Mary Kane’s son Gavin, who suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident. Their vision created a place where people of all abilities can experience the joy of sports and the friendships that come with being part of a team.

That spirit was on full display when Unified athletes from Wall and Toms River North came together for a flag football game. High school student-athletes stepped into a different role—as mentors, teammates and some of the loudest supporters on the sidelines. With the band, cheerleaders and student section adding to the atmosphere, it was a game day filled with touchdowns, celebrations and connections that reach well beyond the field.
