Christian Brothers Academy’s cross-country team has a winning streak that is truly mind-boggling.  For 400 straight duals and 50 years, the Colts have been victorious.  JSZ was there for the 400th straight win and the celebration of one of the country’s best cross-country programs!

On September 19, 1974, CBA beat Marist 15-50 in cross country.   Little did coach Tom Heath know that one of sports most remarkable streaks.  Fast forward to September 18, 2024 and the Colts scored dual wins against Point Pleasant Boro and Southern Regional to notch consecutive wins 399 and 400 on the eve of the 50th anniversary of what’s known on the Lincroft campus as “The Streak”.  Heath retired in 2015 with the streak at 343.  He returned to campus to see the famed cross-country loop named in his honor at CBA.  Alumni of all ages who ran for the legend returned to see the streak reach 400 and 50 years.  The 2024 Christian Brothers Academy cross-country team is currently ranked second in the nation led by head coach Sean McCafferty.
