CBA is hosting the Catholic Duals featuring five of the top six ranked teams in New Jersey.  Day one was highlighted by St. Peter’s Prep and Bergen Catholic going down to the final match.  Watch all the action from Lincroft!

St. Peter’s Prep 30 Bergen Catholic 28 | Catholic Duals

Josh Piparo gave the Marauders the lead at 175 with a tech fall and Anthony Verdi’s 7-2 decisoin at 190 proved to be the clincher for the Marauders who earned a spot in the Catholic Duals semifinals.  Bergen Catholic won the first three matches to race out to a 15-0 lead before four straight St. Peter’s wins put the Marauders in front 16-15 capped off by a pin by Sal Barrometi at 138 pounds.  Tech falls by Gideon Gonzalez at 144 and Manny Gusfa at 157 put BC in front 25-19 before St. Peter’s rolled off three straight wins.

St. Peter’s Prep will face #1 Delbarton in the semifinals on Saturday at CBA with the other semi featuring the host school taking on St. Joe’s-Montvale.  The winners will square off for the Catholic duals title at 3:30 pm.
