TJ Brustowicz profiles the Caseys lacrosse trio of Maeve Cowley, Grace Fallon and Amanda Casten
The Miami Heat have shown how the “Big Three” can get you to a championship. RBC’s girls lacrosse team has a “Big Three” of their own, three seniors who helped lead the Caseys to a South Jersey Sectional crown. Amanda Casten (5 goals), Maeve Cowley (4 goals) and Grace Fallon (3 goals, 2 assists) accounted for 12 of RBC’s 16 goals in their win over West Deptford and a South Jersey Group 2 championship. All three players are off to play Division I lacrosse.
Casten is staying in-state to play for Rutgers. “Amanda is a strong, physical player who has great potential as a defensive middle for us,” Rutgers women’s lacrosse coach Laura-Brand Sias said on Signing Day. “She is smart and competitive and I can see her competing for time early on.” Cowley signed a national letter of intent to play at UMass, who was 18-2 last year and reached the NCAA Tournament. Fallon joins a Duke squad that finished 11-8 and reached the NCAA quarterfinals in 2014.
