The Spartans ripped off five unanswered goals in the second half to blow past the Lions in a physical conference championship win.
Top-seeded Sparta (12-2) and second-seed Pope John (6-5) were deadlocked in a 4-4 tie at the half before the Spartans offense really found its gear. Eddie Brown led the way with a game-high four goals in the win while Parker Hein and the Sparta defense did a great job of blanking the Lions after the half.
