Matt Hodge came to Belmar via Belgium with his younger brother Jayden and made an immedate impact at Saint Rose High leading the Purple Roses to the Non-Public “B” state championship game. Hodge has given his verbal commitment to play Division I basketball in the Big East with the Villanova Wildcats. Hodge averaged 14.75 points and 8.8 rebounds per game for a Purple Roses team that went 24-5. In the final game of his junior season, Hodge shined at Rutgers in the state finals loss to Roselle Catholic with 19 points and 8 rebounds. His stock soared during the summer AAU season and ultimately chose Villanova over Marquette, Penn State, Maryland and Seton Hall.
