Marlboro 3 Colts Neck 2

One day following the sudden passing of his father, PJ Ringel delivered two goals including a magnificent golden goal in the first overtime period to give the Mustangs an emotional win in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 4 state playoffs.  Jack Ringel was a New York state high school basketball Hall of Famer after leading Grady High School in Brooklyn for 24 seasons winning three NYC titles and a state championship.   Ringel scored in the 12th minute off a perfect pass from Brian Dates and Steven Karp gave the Mustangs a 2-0 lead at the half.  Colts Neck stormed back with two goals from Louis Reale.  Reale scored in the opening minute of the second half and in the final five minutes to force overtime.  Ringel blasted a left foot shot in the first overtime period to get the Mustangs through to the second round as plenty of tears flowed following the inspirational effort.  Watch the highlights and a heartfelt post-match interview from PJ Ringel here:
