Elijah McAllister missed his entire junior season of football at Rumson-Fair Haven after suffering a torn ACL while playing for AAU basketball’s Team Rio during a summer tournament in California. McAllister worked hard in rehabilitation to get back on the basketball court in January for the Bulldogs, but a second torn ACL on his other knee forced him to go through the entire process once again. Despite two major injuries, McAllister is still one of the top recruits in New Jersey high school football with 21 college offers with more to come. On Friday night, the Bulldogs open the season at Raritan seeking a fifth straight state championship and McAllister says he’s at 150 percent health wise.
