Sophomore Alex Stanyek’s base hit to left in the bottom of the 7th plated Matt Scrivanic with the game winning run as the 3rd seeded Caseys avoid an upset from #14 Howell. Shane Panzini gave up two runs in the top of the first on an RBI groundout and a passed ball but settled in after that to throw a complete game featuring 8 strikeouts. Vin Impresa had a no-hitter through five innings but the Caseys were able to pound out six hits in the final two frames. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights and post-game reaction from Red Bank:
