Bryan Antoine sparked a Ranney comeback with 15 fourth quarter points as the Panthers delivered a 58-56 road win against Mater Dei Prep in Middletown. With Ranney leading 25-23 at the half, the third quarter saw the Panthers build a 33-27 advantage. Elijah Barnes delivered back to back three pointers and Brandon Wilson scored a layup as part of an 8-0 run. Wilson would make three free throws in the final second of the third quarter to give Mater Dei a 38-34 lead. Scottie Lewis picked up his fourth foul on the Wilson three point attempt and sat for the first half of the fourth quarter. The Seraphs built a seven point lead before Antoine began his scoring barrage. Antoine’s lay-in gave Ranney a 52-50 lead, but Barnes answered with a three-point play to give the Seraphs a 53-52 advantage. In the final minute, Antoine scored a hoop and foul of his own to make it 55-53. A key rebound and two free throws by Chris Autino sealed the victory. Barnes had 20 points in a losing effort, while Antoine shined with 23 points. Ahmadu Sarnor had 14 and Scottie Lewis delivered 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocked shots.
