A couple hundred Morris County hockey fans packed into Mennen Arena Friday night for the anticipated rematch between Randolph and Morris Knolls, a game that ended in a 3-3 tie back on December 17.
Well, after another 45 minutes of hard-fought hockey, we reached a similar conclusion. The Rams and Golden Eagles would again skate to a draw, this time to a 1-1 final.
Nick Gallo scored Randolph’s lone goal late in the second period and Morris Knolls’ Jason Kwestal evened things up with under five minutes to play in the third period. These two teams could potentially meet a third time in the Mennen Cup tournament set for February.
