Deven Ralph had a pair of third period goals and Clay Simonsen turned away a breakaway to give the Eagles a 3-2 win over crosstown rival Middletown North in the opening game for both teams. Mike Racioppi got the Eagles on the board with a power play goal, but Middletown North took a 2-1 lead after one period thanks to a pair of goals by Dan Quiles.
