Pope John’s football program has been one of the most consistent in North Jersey, taking trips to the Non-Public Group 3 semifinals in each of the last three seasons. But 2018 was marred by the lowest win total (two wins) under head coach Brian Carlson, and his Lions are intent on changing that.
Seniors Mike DeNucci, David Heath and Connor Milks are returning for Pope John as they look to get back above the .500 mark and beyond.
