Our Manasquan Bank Game of the Week was a thriller in Point Pleasant as Point Boro scored a 10-9 win in 9 innings over Ocean Township to advance to the Shore Conference baseball quarterfinals.  We’ve also got highlights of Middletown South’s dominant effort against Howell and all the second round scores

Point Pleasant Boro 10 Ocean 9 (9 innings)

Bill Feehan’s opposite field base hit to left provided the walk-off dramatics for the Panthers who won their seventh one-run game of the season.  Point Pleasant Boro rallied from four runs down in the 7th inning to draw even at 8 scoring the final three runs with two outs.  Ocean took the lead in the top of the 8th on a Marc Chernin RBI single, but Point Boro answered back with a Mike Falconetti triple and an error that allowed him to score and tie the game at 9.  In the bottom of the 9th, the Panthers put two runners on to set the stage for Feehan’s heroics as he drove in brother Patrick with the game winner.  Brian Olesen was 4-5 with 5 RBI’s and Brian Kochenash scored 5 runs in a losing effort for the Spartans.  Sam Monaco had 3 hits including his 100th career hit for the Panthers, who are now 20-2 on the season.  Point Pleasant Boro advances to the quarterfinals and a matchup with #4 seed RBC in Red Bank on Wednesday.  Watch all the drama and excitement from Friday afternoon in Point Pleasant:
