October 7, 2017. It was a day Nyjon Freeman would never forget.

After hitting the edge on a pitch, Hoboken’s star running back was tackled by three defenders and taken to the ground. But when he rolled over and looked at his right leg, Freeman thought his football career would be finished.

After two surgeries to repair his ACL, PCL and meniscus, along with 23 months of physical rehab, Freeman finally got back to his dominant self on the gridiron with a 268-yard, three-touchdown performance against Cedar Grove on Oct. 4.
