JSZ heads to Pirate Country on Saturday for Seton’s Hall’s Public vs. Private Softball Challenge. The action kicked off early in the morning with perhaps the biggest game of the slate: No. 6 Morris Knolls vs. No. 5 Immaculate Heart! Who will win the Battle of the Eagles? Check out the action below!
Morris Knolls 8 Immaculate Heart 2 | Public vs. Private Challenge
After a rough start to the year, No. 6 Morris Knolls softball (2-2) got back to .500 with a huge 8-2 win over No. 5 Immaculate Heart (2-1) at Saturday’s Public-Private Challenge hosted by Seton Hall University.
Down 1-0 in the third, IHA’s Ariana Lee and Eva Henriquez brought home one RBI each to give the Blue Eagles the 2-1 lead. Then, in the top of the fifth, Knolls’ Julia Fox scored Jessica Seprish on a bases-loaded walk to tie it up. Emily Rolph batted next and hit an RBI single with Taylor Heinemann and Sofia Cruz scoring to go ahead 4-2. Their scoring ways continued in the sixth with four more runs which included a Kayla Doyle double and a Heinemann triple.
Seprish was the winning pitcher with 4.1 innings of relief, one hit allowed, and four strikeouts.
