Pro Skate in Monmouth Junction played host to “Hockey Fights Cancer Night” where before 15th ranked Hillsborough and 4-5-1 Morris Knolls faced off on the ice, the New Jersey Devils and RWJ Barnabas Health honored Hillsborough resident Charlie Shomers and brain cancer survivor with the game’s ceremonial puck drop. Devils legend and two-time Stanley Cup Champion Bruce Driver accompanied Shomers for his pre-game ceremony and even spent some time throughout the night getting to know the 13 year old, which made for a once in a lifetime experience.
