Morris Knolls baseball broke onto the scene in a big way last season and orchestrated a great run to win the Group 3 state championship. Earlier this month, the Golden Eagles’ hockey team did something similar and ran the table to win a public co-op state championship. Are there any parallels between the two? You bet.
Luke Dickerson and Michael Simone are captains on both of those teams and each had vital roles to both championships – but make no mistake – baseball is their No. 1 sport. Dickerson is a Virginia commit and MLB Draft prospect after hitting .483 a year ago. Simone, committed to Manhattan, is a big slugger who drove in 33 runs last season ago.
