A big recruiting headline on Monday from New Jersey high school hockey!  Check out Nicholas Sykora’s highlights including a breakdown from the Devils Dawson Mercer!

Montclair Kimberly Academy’s Nicholas Sykora has given a verbal commitment to play Division I hockey for the reigning NCAA champs.  Sykora will take the ice for the Quinnipiac Bobcats who won their first national title in 2023.  Sykora played for MKA as a sophomore in addition to elite junior hockey for the Long Island Gulls and he was dominant with 33 goals and 17 points in just 16 games helping his school win the Kelly Cup.  Sykora is the son of former New Jersey Devil and two-time Stanley Cup champion Petr Sykora.  Nicholas was an 8th round pick by the Omaha Lancers in the USHL, a springboard to college hockey and beyond.

Jersey Sports Zone was there for Sykora’s two goal game against Oratory Prep that helped MKA win the Kelly Cup.  His second goal was honored by the New Jersey Devils as a goal of the month and was featured at the Prudential Center.  Devils forward Dawson Mercer was able to break down the goal.
