Pennington ace Bryce Meccage made the final start of his high school career and did not disappoint in front of a large contingent of MLB scouts. Check out the highlights of Pennington at Hightstown
At the start of the 2024 baseball season, Bryce Meccage was on the MLB Draft Radar. Thanks to five stellar starts for Pennington, Meccage stock is soaring heading into July’s 2024 MLB Amateur Draft. The right-hander committed to the University of Virginia delivered a truly special season with 22 no-hit innings with 57 strikeouts and 9 walks. Meccage reached 98 miles per hour on the radar gun and added a slider and curveball to his arsenal. Will he be ACC-bound or cashing in a multi-million dollar signing bonus? That will be decided in the coming weeks.

Pennington 1 Hightstown 0
Meccage closed out his high school career with 11 strikeouts in four innings of no-hit ball and Braydon Bonfig’s RBI single in the second inning was all that was needed for a road win. Meccage set the all-time Pennington strikeout record with his 155th career K in the third inning and added three more to finish at 158. The righty committed to Virginia did not have a single ball put into play. Meccage walked four batters and had a catcher’s interference as the lone out that was not a strikeout.
