It took 186 years, but Pennington has its first major league baseball draft pick directly out of high school. Bryce Meccage will be signing a contract to join the Milwaukee Brewers organization after the MLB team selected him in the second round with the #57 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. The right-hander touched 97 miles per hour and did not allow a single hit in his 22 innings thrown in his senior season under the microscope of dozens of scouts watching every one of his throws.
