Summit 7 Westfield 6 | Boys

No. 12 Summit improved to 2-0 on the season following a close 7-6 win over rival No. 7 Westfield. The Blue Devils led 4-3 to begin the third quarter when four unanswered goals put Summit ahead 7-4 early in the fourth. Westfield would score twice late, but was unable to force overtime after Cornell commit Ryan Waldman cut the game to a one goal deficit with two minutes remaining in regulation. Waldman had two goals and two assists while Princeton commit Cody Lam finished with four goals. Summit’s Sean McCeney ended the afternoon with three goals and two assists.
