Mater Dei Prep’s first season in the Non-Public Group 3 bracket raised eyebrows after upsetting reigning champions Depaul Catholic in the state semifinals. But their season didn’t end as ultimately planned — Red Bank Catholic defeated the Seraphs, 14-10, in the state finals.
