Manchester Township basketball standout Destiny Adams has been selected to the McDonald’s All-American game. For the second straight year, the game will not be played due to the COVID-10 pandemic but it doesn’t take away from the honor of being selected as one of the top 24 players in the nation. Last year, Mainland’s Kylee Watson was named a McDonald’s All-American. Watson was named 2020 JSZ Miss Hoop Zone and is currently a freshman at the University of Oregon. Adams has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball in the ACC for the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Adams is averaging 27 points and 17 rebounds a game for the Hawks who are currently 7-2 on the season. Watch JSZ’s highlight reel of Adams from her junior season:

Adams made national headlines prior to the start of her senior season she wanted to wear a Black Lives Matter shirt during pregame warmups in her senior season but that request was denied by the Manchester Township Board of Education. Despite the setback, Adams and her Hawks teammates were able to follow the school guidelines and still share their message. Adams and her teammates wore Black Lives Matter hoodies as they walked into the gym for their season-opening game against Jackson Liberty.  Watch JSZ’s feature on the start of Adams senior season:
