In the midst of tragedy Linden banded together to defeat Big Central Conference rival Perth Amboy 13-0. Just days after the passing of sophomore standout Xavier McClain, who sustained a head injury on a second half kick return against Woodbridge in Week Two, the Tigers decided to play the game and honored their beloved teammate in the most fitting way possible, a win. The horrific event struck a cord with programs from around the state and shows the camaraderie New Jersey athletics has for one another. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the story from Linden:

Thank you to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (Rahway) for sponsoring our Linden coverage.
