Over 6,800 fans packed the RAC at Rutgers University to watch the Ranney Panthers become the first Shore Conference boys team to earn the Tournament of Champions title. In the final game for McDonald’s All-Americans Bryan Antoine and Scottie Lewis, the Panthers rallied from an 11 point deficit in the third quarter and held on in the final seconds. Ranney 67 Bergen Catholic 63 – Tournament of Champions Boys Final

Scottie Lewis scored 20 points and hauled in 11 rebounds and Bryan Antoine scored 17 as Ranney rallied from an 11 point third quarter deficit to win its first ever Touranment of Champions title. Bergen Catholic raced out to a 10-2 lead early and held a 30-21 halftime advantage after a Zach Freemantle slam on an ally-oop to close out the first half. With Antoine and Lewis scoring 18 of Ranney’s 21 first half points, the Panthers supporting cast stepped up in the second half. Phil Wheeler had 14 points and Ahmadu Sarnor added 13. Sarnor broke a 63-63 tie with a free throw and Wheeler brought in a rebound on Bergen’s attempt to win the game.
