New Jersey boys’ lacrosse has a tradition reaching nearly 60 years where there has always been one singular champion standing at the end of the year.
The elimination of the Tournament of Champions threatened that history – but the Garden State’s passionate lacrosse community has rallied to keep that tradition alive.
The Kirst Cup – a true, full replacement for the TOC – has been proposed and is officially “a full go,” according to Mountain Lakes head coach Tim Flynn.
Flynn spearheaded a fundraising effort for the inaugural Kirst Cup where over $35,000 was brought in to cover all expenses.
