Kingsway 5 Steinert 4 | HS Softball

In a battle of the top two ranked public schools in New Jersey, it was Kingsway (19-0) who scored 5 unanswered and took down Steinert (13-2). After falling behind 4-0 in the top of the first, senior Jessa Pieters came on in relief and pitched 6.2 scoreless innings, striking out six. The Lady Dragons were spitting fire with the bats as Laney Thorp and Virginia commit Hannah Weismer hit home runs. Weismer also had 2 crucial defensive plays in the top of the sixth to help keep Kingsway undefeated. On the flip side, Francesca Castellano and Addison Hassan both went deep for the Spartans.
