RED BANK – Matt Kidney scored with 5.4 seconds left to earn Saint John Vianney a 3-3 tie with Rumson-Fair Haven.  The Bulldogs took a 3-2 lead with 3:04 to go in the third period when John Monteferrante went end to end and delivered a top shelf backhand.  Saint John Vianney pulled the goalie in the final minute to set the stage for Kidney’s heroics.  He took the puck in his own zone and streaked down the right wing.  He was able to navigate through three defenders and deliver a top shelf wrist shot to get the equalizer.  Coach Mick Messemer said the tie felt like a win.  RFH’s Conor Deverin and SJV’s Matt Kidney are both up for our first SSZ Game Puck highlighting the top performances from last week on the high school ice.  Click HERE to cast your vote – ballots close on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
