One of New Jersey’s premier point guards is headed to the Big East. Micah Gordon announced his commitment to Creighton, choosing the Bluejays over fellow finalists VCU and West Virginia.
The Class of 2027 four-star recruit built a historic résumé during three seasons at Plainfield. Gordon scored 1,841 points to become the Cardinals’ all-time leading scorer while leading his hometown program to consecutive Group 4 state championships. Plainfield also captured a Union County Tournament title and earned a No. 1 state ranking during his career.
Gordon was named Jersey Sports Zone’s 2026 Mr. Hoop Zone after capping his junior season with a second straight state title. The explosive floor general will play his senior season at SPIRE Academy in Ohio before beginning his college career in Omaha.
The commitment is also a landmark recruiting victory for Creighton. Gordon becomes the highest-ranked prospect to commit to the Bluejays in program history. He’s ranked No. 28 nationally in the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite and the sixth ranked point guard in America for the class of 2027.
