Top 10 Boys Lacrosse Games

The 2018 high school boys LAX season saw sensational offensive performances, incredible saves, and clutch scores.  Jersey Sports Zone captured hundreds of great moments and here are the Top 10 most viewed games on Jersey Sports Zone from last season in New Jersey high school boys LAX:

#10. Manasquan 11 CBA 3 – PART 2 | SCT Boys LAX Final

Canyon Birch scored his 100th goal of 2018 as part of a five-point game as the Warriors avenged a 6-4 regular season loss to top the #1 seed and earn a second straight Shore Conference championship. Ryan Anderson scored four goals and Mike LaPoint had 12 saves to lead Manasquan who handed CBA their first loss of the season.  JSZ has your flashback to Monmouth University:

#9. Don Bosco 9 Ridgewood 4

Justin Kim scored four goals and twin brother Andrew added a pair of scores as the Ironmen braved the elements to top Ridgewood.  Matt Solleder added two goals for Don Bosco, who improved to 2-0 on the season after this exciting win. Lets look back on this Ironmen victory now:

#8. Delbarton 15 Seton Hall Prep 10 | Non-Public A State Final

Matt Campbell was a man on a mission, the senior midfielder scored 5 first half goals sparking Delabrton to a 15-10 win over Seton Hall Prep. The win marked The Green Wave’s 3rd straight Non-Public A Title and added to a historic year in sports at Delbarton School, winning State Championships in Soccer, Hockey and now on the Lacrosse field.

#7. CBA 6 Manasquan 4 

Christian Brothers Academy came into this game with Manasquan ranked No. 2 in the Shore Conference despite bolstering a 9-0 record and a win over Don Bosco Prep. Rankings didn’t matter to the Colts, but shutting down a prolific Manasquan offense did. The CBA defense led by senior goalie Chris Downey (11 Saves, 4 in the 4th Qtr) held the Warriors to just 4 goals on the day, as the Colts came away with the 6-4 win at Monmouth University. Connor Macrae, Robbie Hermansen and Kevin Junquet sparked a 3-Goal run in the 2nd quarter to give CBA a 4-3 lead at the half. James Pendergist recorded a hat trick for Manasquan in the loss.

#6. Delbarton 9 Mountain Lakes 5 | Morris County Final

The Delbarton School came into the Morris County Final boasting 5 consecutive County Championships to go along with a current No. 1 ranking in The NJ Top 20. Despite that, the Green Wave was still able to find motivation in an underdog mentality. Seeded No. 2 behind Mountain Lakes in the tournament, Delbarton was out to prove they were once again the very best in Morris County. Michael Long scored a hat trick, and Yale bound goalie Miles Leniw had an incredible 14 saves, as The Green Wave made it a six-beat, taking down Mountain Lakes 9-5 to capture the Morris County Crown. #5 Delbarton 11 Westfield 9 

Matt Campbell broke a 9-9 tie and the Green Wave added an insurance goal late in the 4th quarter to win in a NJ high school lacrosse opener featuring two of the top 3 ranked teams in New Jersey. Thomas Maccowatt scored four goals and three assists for Delbarton, who are the defending Tournament of Champions winners.  Westfield rallied from an 8-4 deficit with a pair of goals to close out the the first half followed by three straight goals to tie the game at nine at the end of three quarters.  Devon McClane had 4 goals and 3 assists in a losing effort.

#4. Delbarton 10 Summit 6 

After suffering a stunning loss to Chatham and seeing their No. 1 ranking disappear, Delbarton School was primed for redemption in this matchup. The Green Wave got their chance facing off with the new No. 1 team in NJ, undefeated Summit High School. Delbarton pounced on the opportunity, coming away with a 10-6 win on the road over the Hilltoppers. Senior midfielder Matt Campbell poured in 4 goals and an assist while Yale bound goalie Miles Leniw stopped 7 shots in net against a Summit offense that averages over 10 goals a game.

#3. CBA 8 Don Bosco 7

A matchup that featured two of New Jersey’s top 20 teams, and two undefedeated squads, lived up to the hype and then some. Don Bosco Prep took full control in the 3rd quarter on a Reese Gerlach goal that put the Ironmen up 7-3, but CBA retaliated by scoring 5 unanswered goals, including the game winner by freshman Kyle Aldridge with just 2:26 to play. Colts get a incredible comeback win in what was an early candidate for game of the year.

#2. Delbarton 16 Seton Hall 9 

Despite being the two-time defending TOC Champions, and the No. 1 ranked program in New Jersey, The Delbarton School continued to find ways to impress Lacrosse fans across the state. Seton Hall Prep entered this match vs the undefeated and ranked No. 2, Delbarton. The Green Wave improved to 5-0 with a dominant 16-9 win, while handing the Pirates their first loss of the season. Senior attackman Tommy MacCowatt scored 4 goals and added 2 assists for Delbarton, while Griffin Westlin scored a hat trick for Seton Hall Prep. A second look now available:

Senior Matt Campbell tallied a hat trick and goalie Miles Leniw stopped 14 shots as Delbarton came away with a statement 13-10 win over St. Anthony’s of Long Island NY. The Green Wave (USA Today’s No. 8 Ranked Team) improved 2-0 after this game. Lets take a look back now:
