With only seconds left on the clock in a tight matchup against Manalapan on Friday night, Middletown South kicker Chris Kaldrovics stepped up to kick from 20 yards out. Kaldrovics’ cool demeanor paid off as he booted the game-winning kick as time expired to give the Eagles a 17-14 win on the road. For this clutch performance, Kaldrovics was picked by voters from around the state to win the Jersey Sports Zone Top Football Play for Week Two.

Thank you to everyone who voted for our Week 1 Top Plays.  Coming up this Sunday, we’ll have 10 more nominees up for JSZ Top Play and the winner will receive the JSZ Top Plays Belt!

Make sure to tune into Jersey Sports Zone every Sunday morning to watch and vote on the top plays captured by JSZ cameras from around the state. The winner from each week’s vote will take home a unique, engraved JSZ Title Belt and will have a seat at the statewide All-Zone football banquet in December.

Previous Winners

Week One: Red Bank Catholic’s MJ Wright took home the JSZ Title Belt thanks to his 60-yard pick-six in a 40-7 rout of the Ocean Township Spartans on Sept. 7.

Week Zero: Tyler Phillips of Weequahic High School won the inaugural JSZ Title Belt after a 65-yard touchdown run after a botch punt snap. Phillip’s run went viral across the internet and was viewed over 2 million times in the coming days.

Sponsor Shoutout!

The main reason Jersey Sports Zone is able to capture so many special moments on and off the field is because of our great sponsors. Thanks to Monmouth Building Center, JSZ was at the Middletown South vs. Manalapan game. Monmouth Building Center will be sponsoring all Middletown South athletics for the 2018- 2019 season.
