Jimmy Wilson moves from wide receiver to quarterback this season to lead an explosive offensive unit that includes sophomore Cam Miller at wide receiver. Penn State commit Ejani Shakir transferred from Pennsauken, and will be an impact player on both sides of the football for Winslow Twp. Shakir will form a formidable safety combo with junior Kameron Brown on the back-end of the Eagles defense. Winslow opens the season with a trip to Rutgers to face Northern Highlights at the Rumble on the Raritan.

8/31: Brick Township: Shore Conference

The Dragons have seven career sectional titles and are eager to return to winning football. The Green Dragons open the season against Marlboro and their rivalry game will wrap up the regular season on October 22nd against crosstown nemesis Brick Memorial.

Click HERE for Rich Chrampanis’s preview of the Green Dragons

8/31: Clifton | Super Football Conference

No matter what side you’re on, there’s no denying the fact that the Mustangs experienced one of the most gut-wrenching endings of the entire 2021 season. The heartbreak from the North Group 5 regional championship game has evolved into a lesson for Clifton in 2022. Senior linebacker/tight end Joe Abill is back to lead his squad as they look to repeat as sectional champions and push for the Group 5 state title with a near entirely new cast. The ‘Stangs open their season on Thursday with a rematch against East Orange.

8/31: Phillipsburg | Big Central Conference

Phillipsburg finished 7-5 in 2021. The Stateliners dropped their first two games before winning seven of their next eight. P’burg’s season, which was flooded with injuries, came to an end in the North 2, Group 5 sectional semifinals to eventual champions, Clifton. Despite making a deep playoff run, the tough-nosed program expects more from its crew this year and will lean on senior RB Xavier Moore to carry the workload for them in 2022.

8/31: Manchester Township | Shore Conference

One of the state’s youngest head coaches has brought energy to the Hawks. 27-year-old Tommy Farrell will make his debut along with his nest of Hawks this Saturday at Lakewood. Manchester needs to replace dynamic QB Savon Myers but brings back some experience looking to improve on last year’s 3-7 squad.

8/31: Matawan | Shore Conference

Jay Graber begins his fourth season leading the Huskies who look to get to winning football after a 4-6 record in 2021. Matawan has a tough test when they host Raritan in its opener on Thursday night.

8/30 Pinelands | Shore Conference

John Tierney is the new head coach in Wildcat Country. A longtime assistant in multiple sports in the Shore Conference and gets his opportunity to lead a Pinelands team that features three-year starting quarterback Ryan Allen and a Division I prospect in Mike Hall. The Wildcats take on Point Pleasant Beach this Thursday to open the 2022 season. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis previews the Wildcats:

8/30 Freehold Boro | Shore Conference

Freehold Boro finished 5-5 in 2021, hitting a three-game losing streak during the midpoint of the season. The Colonials battling through a tough Group 4 Shore Conference schedule lost twice to Long Branch with the second coming in the South Group 4 quarterfinals. Now they reload with a new, younger cast eager to lead the program to its first title since 2010.

JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez caught up with Freehold Boro:

8/30: West Orange | Super Football Conference

Coach Darnell Grant led the West Orange to a 7-4 record last year, the program won five of their final seven games before falling to rival East Orange in the North 1, Group 5 semifinals. They return a star-studded cast that features Georgia Tech commit Gensley Auguste and Saboor Karriem who holds over 26 Division 1 offers.

JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez caught up with the Mountaineers:

8/30: Raritan | Shore Conference

The Rockets caught fire in the playoffs and made a run to the South Jersey Group 2 championship. Kieran Falzon returns with over 2,100 all-purpose yards and 24 touchdowns with three-year starter Matt Agar anchoring the defense. The Rockets open the season this Thursday against Matawan on the road. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis previews the 2022 edition of Anthony Petruzzi’s team:

8/30: Hillside | Big Central Conference

After a tough end to the 2021 season, the Comets are back with a vengeance. Hillside returns a pair of 1,000 yard rushers and D-1 commits in Syracuse commit Muwaffaq Parkman and Army commit Kyon Simonson. Three-year starter Caleb Salters and towering LT Charles Allen III round out a potentially explosive offense for the Comets. Zamir Hawk returns to anchor the defensive line, as well. Hillside moves up to the North Group 3 bracket from Central Group 2, so big challenges lie ahead for Barris Grant’s team.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has the story from Union County:

8/30: Middle Township | West Jersey Football League

2021 was a breakthrough season for the Panthers, as they won their first division title since 1959. Now with most of the starters returning, Middle looks to secure the first playoff win in program history this fall. Michael Zarfati (WR), Jerry White (LB) and Marco Juan Salgado (OL/DL) are all juniors and players to watch for the Panthers this season. Sophomore Remi Rodriguez should see plenty of touches at RB, while Kani Perry (OL/DL) will provide senior leadership.

JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the preview from Cape May Court House:

8/29: Keyport | Shore Conference

One of the Shore Conference’s most storied programs seemed to be back on track last year as Keyport posted their first winning season since 2016. Jason Glezman heading in his fourth season as the Red Raiders head coach is trying to build off that success while leaving last year in the past.

JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez previews Keyport:

8/29: Paramus Catholic | Super Football Conference

The last three seasons Coach Greg Russo enjoyed much success with Northern Highlands, recording a 26-6 record and two sectional championships. Russo now returns to his alma mater Paramus Catholic in hopes of leading the once dominant powerhouse to their first victory since 2019.

JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez caught up with the Paladins’ new coach:

8/29: Long Branch | Shore Conference

Chad King takes over for Dan George after his 23-year run leading the Green Wave. King is more than familiar with his squad, serving as an assistant under George for 11 years. Long Branch is coming off an 8-2 season with plenty of playmakers back including wide receiver Michael Hall and two-way star Shamar Williams who had five interceptions in the secondary.

JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis previews Long Branch:

8/25: Freehold Township | Shore Conference

Mark Augello passed for nearly 1500 yards and threw 14 TD passes in just seven games as a sophomore. Look for Augello and a talented stable of receivers to put up some big numbers with a critical year of varsity experience under their belts. The Patriots open the season in Week 0 against Manalapan and will face the rest of the Freehold district in the Shore’s Constitution Division.

JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis previews the Patriots:

8/25: Hudson Catholic | Super Football Conference

An 8-2 season last year sent the Hawks to the Non-Public B playoffs. Hudson Catholic now moves up to the challenging Non-Public A in 2022, but they have weapons. There’s 20 seniors on the roster for head coach Lou Zampella and the focus all off-season has been on the small things as Hudson Catholic dreams big.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has the story:

8/25: St. John Vianney | Shore Conference

Longtime Shore assistant Jeff Papcun gets his first head coaching opportunity moving up from Lancers defensive coordinator. SJV opens the season this Saturday night at the Battle at the Beach in Ocean City against RBC. The Lancers bring back a strong line and experienced playmakers with a great opportunity to have a winning season and improve on last year’s 4-7 mark.

JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis previews the 2022 Lancers:

8/24: Holmdel | Shore Conference

Seventh-year head coach Jeff Rainess has established a competitive culture in Holmdel. The Hornets will be tough to prepare for in 2022 thanks to the always-tough triple option. Holmdel should battle in the Shore’s Independence Division, which features two teams that played in sectional championship games a season ago.

JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the story:

8/24: Delbarton | Super Football Conference

The Green Wave are ready to turn the page after the first sub-.500 season in Morristown since 2017. Delbarton’s strength this season lies in the trenches. Four starters return to anchor the offensive line and will protect returning senior quarterback Rob Russo. Matt Gemma (Army) and Nigel McSween (Villanova) are two game-changing defensive linemen with loads of varsity experience. Delbarton’s season kicks off on Saturday with a major rivalry game against Seton Hall Prep in West Orange.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has the story from Morris County:

8/24: Donovan Catholic | Shore Conference

The Griffins bounced back from three forfeits early in the season to win a playoff game in 2021, but Donovan Catholic is looking to make a deeper playoff push this fall. Tommy Meehan will anchor the offensive and defensive lines, while fellow senior Dante Vernieri is one of the Shore Conference’s top linebackers. The Griffins play several marquee games, as they’ll face Rumson-Fair Haven, Red Bank Catholic and St. Joe’s (Montvale).

JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the story:

8/23: South Brunswick | Big Central Conference

South Brunswick and coach John Viotto parted ways after just three seasons and a 13-13 record, and now the Vikings look to a familiar face to fill the role in 2022. Joe Goerge, who coached the Vikings to three sectional titles from 2012 through 2019, jumped at the opportunity when the position became available and his impact on the field can be felt already.

JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez stopped by camp:

8/23: DePaul Catholic | Super Football Conference

Another season, another year with championship expectations in Wayne. After falling to Red Bank Catholic in the Non-Public B state final, and then losing nearly 20 seniors to graduation, DePaul will send a young, hungry team to the field in 2022. Highly-touted junior Patrick Grusser steps into the starting quarterback role in Nick Campanile’s pass-happy offense while Delaware commit Nyair Domnie assumes the role of defensive captain. The Spartans are looking to quiet the doubters from the get-go.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has more from Wayne:

8/22: Somerville | Big Central Conference

Somerville went 8-3 behind Coach Dallas Whitaker last year, falling to Cedar Creek in the South Group 3 Semifinals. Whitaker stepped down at the end of last season and now Ian Pace steps into his first year with the team and looks to uphold the standard of Pioneer football.

JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the story:

8/22: Hammonton | West Jersey Football League

A very young Blue Devils team battled to a 5-6 record last fall, but in 2022 Hammonton hopes to get back to the business of competing for championships. Kenny Smith, Justin Doughty and Lucas Goehringer should all see plenty of touches on offense. Seniors Dylan Testa and Kye Pressley (Camden Catholic transfer) will be counted on to lead the way. The Blue Devils will face a tough Notre Dame squad to open the season.

JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the story:

8/22: Ramapo | Super Football Conference

It’s quite possible that New Jersey’s most explosive offense calls Franklin Lakes home for the 2022 season. Following the tragic death of longtime head coach Drew Gibbs, Ramapo now turns to Michael DeFazio to lead a win-now team into battle in the uber-competitive SFC. It all starts with Harvard commit Jack Grusser, who totaled 44 touchdowns and nearly 3,500 yards of offense last season. He’s spoiled with tons of returning talent on a team that has hopes of winning the first Group 4 state title in New Jersey history.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has more from Bergen County:

8/21: Union | Big Central Conference

Union’s championship hopes were dashed last year when the season was unexpectedly cut short due to positive Covid-19 tests. After dropping their season opener to eventual state champions Millville, the Farmers led by the state’s number one ranked player Davison Igbinosun would go on a dominant nine game win streak to reach the North 2, Group 5 Semifinals, but the game was never played. Now Union reloads with a much younger cast and the championship mentality remains the same.

JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez stopped by camp:

8/21: Seton Hall Prep | Super Football Conference

Under fifth-year head coach Bill Fitzgerald, the Pirates will look to continue on forward with a winning culture that’s come to life in West Orange. Seton Hall Prep only returns eight combined starters on both sides of the ball, but there is veteran experience on the roster. Jaylen McClain and Darren Burton create one of the top DB tandems in North Jersey – they’ll be ballhawks in the Pirates secondary. Speedster Mason Mac will lead an athletic group of playmakers on the offense for new quarterback, Liam Londergan.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has more from the Kelly Athletic Complex:

8/20: Colts Neck | Shore Conference

A fantastic three-year run by coach Matt Ahearn’s team produced 21 wins and now a new group of Cougars will try and build the next chapter. Chris Scully came on late and delivered some big running performances in the final four games of the season. Will Surdez will be the leader on defense as the Cougars with varsity experience will work to get the newcomers up to speed.

JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the story on the 2022 edition of Colts Neck:

8/20: Millville | West Jersey Football League

The Thunderbolts have a new coach and a new quarterback, but Millville is a team built to win another championship. Humberto Ayala takes over on the sideline while Jacob Zamot will be behind center. Sophomore sensation Lotzier Brooks and junior Ta’Ron Haile are two of the most dynamic receivers in South Jersey, while senior Keyan German will lead the Bolts defense. Millville won a regional championship in 2021, and has the right pieces in place to contend for a true state title this fall.

JSZ’s Mike Frankel catches up with the Bolts at historic Wheaton Field:

8/20: Sayreville | Big Central Conference

To say last year was a season of ups and downs for Sayreville would be an understatement. The Bombers dropped their first two games, both at home, before a talented young cast shocked Big Central Conference and Group 4 opponents by going on an eight game win streak. Their run would ultimately end in the North 2 Group 4 semifinals to Middletown South, but Sayreville will use that as a jumping off point for 2022. Coming off a 1,403 yard, 25 touchdown season as just a sophomore, Zaimer Wright is ready to turn heads at running back once again and will be one of the top rushing talents in the state to watch.

JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez stopped by camp:

8/20: St. Joe’s (Mont.) | Super Football Conference

No team in the United Red division is undergoing more change than the Green Knights. Power running is the soul of St. Joe’s football – and it still will be incorporated – but the team is changing to a fast-paced, no-huddle offense brought in by new offensive coordinator, Brian Gibbs. Senior leaders Luke Henrich (Lehigh) and Donovan McKoy (Yale) will lead an offense that has top notch running back talent in Yasin Willis, John Forster and Luke Tucci. Jimmy Mullen is back for his fourth and final varsity training camp and wants to leave Joe’s with a football state championship.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has more from Montvale:

8/19: Monmouth Regional | Shore Conference

The Falcons reached the playoffs for just the third time in school history and won the Shore Conference’s National Division with a perfect 5-0 mark on the way to a 6-4 season. Julian Jones, with over 1400 all-purpose yards and 15 touchdowns, returns as one of New Jersey’s top returning rushers and Anthony Jehn is back to lead the offense at quarterback. Monmouth Regional moves up to a tougher schedule as a result of its breakthrough season. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis previews Monmouth Regional:

8/19: Nottingham | West Jersey Football League

Nottingham had much to celebrate in 2021. The Northstars capped off the year as WJFL Capitol Division Champions, finished the regular season undefeated and even won their first playoff game since 2013. They will look to senior receiver Quiyon McMillan – coming off a 720 receiving yard, 10 touchdown year – to be the go-to playmaker of the offense.

JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the story:

8/19: Middletown South | Shore Conference

A 9-2 season a year ago means the Eagles are moving on up. Under the tutelage of 25th year head coach Steve Antonucci, Middletown South makes the jump up to the Shore Conference’s elite American division in 2022. Jake Czwakiel led the Shore with 6 INT’s a season ago and will now step into a double-duty role as the starting quarterback. Colin Gallagher’s 12 sacks were the most in the Shore, too. He’s just one of many returning and improving pieces that will run out onto The Swamp this fall.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has more:

8/19: St. Joseph Academy | West Jersey Football League

After 40 years on the sideline at St. Joe, 2022 will be the final season for Paul Sacco with the Wildcats. St. Joe graduated most of its starters from a team that went 9-3 last year. Lafayette commit Demarion McCoy (DL/OL) and Jimmy Mantuano (QB) will lead a young Wildcats squad against a challenging schedule.

JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the story:

8/18: Monroe | Big Central Conference

2021 was quite a year of ups and downs for Monroe. The Falcons went 4-6 in a season in which they started on a three game win streak before losing four in a row, and ultimately lost two of their remaining three games. With quarterback Riley Piscitelli coming off a 1,344 passing yard, 18 touchdown passing season, Monroe prepares for a tough Group 5 South schedule in the Big Central Conference.

JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the story:

8/18: Red Bank Regional | Shore Conference

Year two of the Shane Fallon era is underway in Little Silver. The Bucs return Pierce Olsen at quarterback who is capable of throwing the deep ball. Ky’Yam Martin is a player to watch as a two-way threat at wideout and defensive back. RBR has the potential to put up a lot of points on the scoreboard. If the defense can step up and create turnovers and stops, the Bucs could elevate to a winning program in 2022.

JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis previews Red Bank Regional:

8/18: Cedar Creek | West Jersey Football League

The Pirates finished a perfect 13-0 in 2021, winning sectional and regional championships. Despite graduating several key contributors, Creek aims to reload with a strong group of upperclassmen. Zaire Pilgrim, Malik Moore-Summers, Mekhi Harvey, and Dejuan Palmer will be the senior leaders for the Pirates this season. Juniors Billy Smith, Alim Parks, and Justin Castillo step into increased roles as Cedar Creek tries to add more hardware to its trophy case in 2022.

JSZ’s James Mooney has the story from Egg Harbor City:

8/18: Bergen Catholic | Super Football Conference

The state’s reigning No. 1 ranked team in New Jersey and returning Non-Public A state champions have worked all off-season long to ensure there’s no championship hangover on Oradell Avenue. The Crusaders will turn to senior leaders Sydir Mitchell (Texas commit) and DJ Samuels (Maryland commit) to be the heart and soul of the team. Jack Duffy will step in as the Week 0 starter to command an offense that returns RB Saeed St. Fleur (Delaware commit) and WR Christian Carti (Columbia commit).

JSZ’s Jay Cook has the story on Bergen Catholic:

8/18: Toms River North | Shore Conference

After a heartbreaking finish to the 2021 season, the Mariners are loaded and ready to make a deep run this fall. Junior QB Micah Ford will lead the way on offense, with seniors Josh Kaye (OL/DL), Ty Boland (LB/FB) and Ty Kazanowsky (LB/TE) playing key roles for North as well. The Mariners will play in back-to-back showcase events to begin the season.

JSZ’s Mike Frankel has more on TRN:

8/17: Shore Regional | Shore Conference

The Blue Devils will open the season at Rutgers at the Rumble on the Raritan. Jackson Whitacre leads the defense coming off a 10-sack sophomore season. On offense, Shore needs to replace 1500-yard rusher Jamie Mazzacco who had 24 scores on the ground. The Blue Devils are looking forward to working towards the Group 1 state playoffs and the chance to compete for a true state championship.

JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis previews the Blue Devils from Shore Conference Media Day:

8/17: Ocean City | West Jersey Football League

The Red Raiders are coming off a 12-1 campaign and a run to Group 4 South sectional final in 2021. OC will be young on the lines this year but returns plenty of experience at the skill positions. Quarterback Riley Gunnels enters his second season as a starter, while fellow senior Jack Hoag should see plenty of touches all over the field.

JSZ’s Mike Frankel checks in from Carey Stadium:

8/16: Holy Spirit | West Jersey Football League

2022 marks the beginning of a new chapter for Holy Spirit as Andrew DiPasquale takes over as head coach, joining a long list of former players to lead the Spartans. Holy Spirit will look to a handful of seniors to guide a young team as the Spartans look to bounce back from a 5-6 record in 2021. Seniors Gavin Roman, Jayden Llanos, and Robert McDevitt will play key roles on both sides of the football, while Sean Burns enters his first full season at quarterback.

JSZ’s James Mooney has the story from Absecon:

8/16: Point Pleasant Boro | Shore Conference

The Panthers won their first sectional title since 2005 last season, but the year ended in heartbreak for Point Boro at Rutgers. This season, the Panthers are looking to repeat as sectional champs and make a run for a state championship. Senior Temple commit Cole Skinner looks to lead the way up front, with Sam Muraglia and Aiden Ward also headlining a deep and talented senior class for head coach Brian Staub.

JSZ’s Mike Frankel checks in with Point Boro:

8/16: Don Bosco Prep | Super Football Conference

The collective confidence at Granatell Stadium in Ramsey is high heading into 2022. With Texas A&M commit Chase Bisontis leading the way, Don Bosco hopes for a hot start and a deep run into the Non-Public A state playoffs. Nick Minicucci, Ronnie Heath and Nolan James will pace an improved offense while Jordan Thomas, Jovan George, Jayden Brown and Nick Severin take over the defense.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has the story on the Ironmen:

8/15: Notre Dame | West Jersey Football League

After finishing 4-5 and second in the WJFL Capitol Division standings last year, Notre Dame will look to junior quarterback AJ Surace to lead the Irish in 2022. Surace is one of the must-see quarterbacks heading into this season and has garnered attention from Michigan State, Boston College and Duke University to name a few.

JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the story:

8/15: Kingsway | West Jersey Football League

The Dragons come into 2022 with heightened expectations after winning their first sectional title in two decades. Kingsway returns virtually every starter from a year ago and look poised to make a run at a sectional and state title this season. Seniors Darrell Brown Jr. and Nate Maiers will feature prominently on both sides of the football, along with Luke Van Brill, Benny Liles III, Brady Whitzell, and Jacob Mason.

JSZ’s James Mooney has the story from Swedesboro:

8/15: Wall | Shore Conference

Longtime Manalapan coach Ed Gurrieri takes over a Crimson Knights program that was rocked by a hazing scandal. Wall had to forfeit a home playoff game and its Thanksgiving rivalry game with Manasquan as a result. There’s a clean slate and with a coach who has an outstanding reputation, the rebuild is on at Wall.

JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the story on the 2022 Crimson Knights:

8/14: St. Thomas Aquinas | Big Central Conference

St. Thomas Aquinas finished 9-1 in 2021 behind an impressive defense that allowed just nine points in the regular season. However, their first-round playoff loss wouldn’t be the only felt by the Trojan Army; this past spring Head Coach Brian Meeney unexpectedly passed away, leaving the program in shock. Tarig Holman now steps in to guide STA as they look to have another successful year.

JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the story from Middlesex County:

8/14: Rumson-Fair Haven | Shore Conference

Jeremy Schulte takes over the reins of the program while his father, Jerry Schulte, returns to his spot as defensive coordinator. The Bulldogs are always built around defense and players like Marshall Halfacre on the defensive line and Beau Kemler in the secondary will lead a new group that tries to live up to the gold standard. RFH lost over 2,700 yards of offense and over 450 tackles to graduation, but the Bulldogs are excited to show how they reload.

JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the preview of the Bulldogs:

8/14: Highland | West Jersey Football League

Angelo Rodriguez enjoyed a breakout season for the Tartans in 2021, rushing for over 1,300 yards and scoring 19 touchdowns in nine games. The Long Island commit returns for his senior season, to lead a veteran group which includes junior QB Connor Leary. Highland will be in the spotlight to open the year, as the Tartans are set to face Downingtown West (PA) at the Battle at the Beach in Ocean City.

JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the story from Blackwood:

8/13: Irvington | Super Football Conference

The Blue Knights enjoyed a historic 2021 season with the program’s first-ever sectional title and then with North Group 4 regional championship win. Irvington has their eyes on going all the way in Group 4 this season. Notre Dame commit Adon Shuler, Kentucky commit Nasir Addison and Rutgers commit Famah Toure will lead the way as head coach Ashley “Smoke” Pierre guides a surging team into battle.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has the story from Essex County:

8/13: Mainland | West Jersey Football League

A young Mustangs team finished 4-6 in 2021, but Mainland has big plans for 2022. Villanova commit Jabriel Mace (RB) teams up with M.J. Leslie (QB) to form one of the most dynamic senior 1-2 punches in South Jersey. Other players to watch include Cohen Cook (LB/WR), Joe Sheeran (DB), Paul Lombardo (OL/DL) and Nick Timek (DL). The Stangs hope to not only break a lengthy playoff win drought in Linwood, but Mainland also hopes to make a deep run in the postseason.

JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the story:

8/13: Brick Memorial | Shore Conference

The Mustangs have one of the Shore’s top returning QB’s in Connor Dietz who had over 2,300 yards of offense last season. Brick Memorial has its sights set on a winning season in 2022.

Rich Chrampanis talked with the Mustangs at Shore Conference Media Day:

8/12: St. Peter’s Prep | Super Football Conference

The Marauders made it to the Non-Public A semifinals a season ago and they’ll have the firepower to make yet another deep playoff run this fall. Maryland commit Champ Long and Pitt commit Zion Fowler make up one of the best QB/WR tandems in the state. Four-star Power 5 recruit Jayden Bonsu will be the ringleader of a dynamic defensive backfield, while Princeton commit London Robinson has emerged as a team captain on the defensive line. St. Peter’s is playing a schedule loaded with showcase games that’ll keep them in the spotlight all season long.

JSZ’s Jay Cook previews the Jersey City non-public power:

8/12: Red Bank Catholic | Shore Conference

The Caseys are the defending Non-Public Group B state champions and bring back a lot of key contributors from last year’s 11-1 squad. The biggest hole to fill is departed QB Alex Brown who’s at Bucknell. While the quarterback competition happens in August, the Caseys have a lot of questions answered. Emanuel Ross, Najih Rahman, and Robert Stolfa are a trio of talented receivers and Sabino Portella is the rare two-way starter in Non-Public football with 1,000-yard potential at running back and hard-hitting in the secondary. Davin Brewton is a top linebacker in the state coming off an 18-tackle performance at MetLife in the state championship game.

JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the breakdown on RBC football in 2022:

8/12: Camden | West Jersey Football League

The Rob Hinson era is officially underway at Camden. After winning four titles at Timber Creek, Hinson returns to his roots to lead the Panthers. Camden went .500 in 2021, but several high-profile transfers should help The High be in the mix to capture their first title since 1976. Among the newcomers are West Virginia commit James Heard (DL) and Deante Ruffin (QB). Taquam Brittingham and Israel Banks should also help lead the way on both sides of the ball.

JSZ’s Mike Frankel checks in with the Panthers at Farnham Park:

8/31: Keansburg | Shore Conference

For the first time since 2015 Keansburg will begin the season with a new Head Coach. The Titans finished 5-4 under Coach John Bird and ended the year with back to back wins. Bird won’t be the only missing piece from last season, with Keansburg’s leader in total offense Mikail Braithwaite graduated his young supporting cast will take the reigns this year and looks to make an impact behind first year head coach James Reid.

8/31: Winslow Twp. | West Jersey Football League

Coming off its first sectional title in program history, the Eagles will look to build on its recent success as Bill Belton takes over as head coach in 2022.

8/31: Middletown North | Shore Conference

8/31: Brick Township: Shore Conference

8/31: Clifton | Super Football Conference

No matter what side you’re on, there’s no denying the fact that the Mustangs experienced one of the most gut-wrenching endings of the entire 2021 season.
