8/26: Freehold Township | Shore Conference
The Air Raid sirens will be out once again in 2026 as Freehold Township will be pass heavy thanks to QB Dakota Lasater and WR Jake Schultzel. Laster threw for 1600 yards and 16 TD passes in just seven games while Schultzel is committed to Monmouth. He’s one of the state’s top receivers after 59 catches for 1,090 yards and 14 touchdown catches last season. The Patriots open the season on Thursday at Central Regional.

8/26: Watchung Hills | Big Central Conference
After a down year and 3-7 record in 2025, Watchung Hills brings on a new head coach in longtime offensive coordinator Joe Ascolese. Despite the head coaching change, the Warriors maintain nearly all of their coach staff from last season, so the transition has been going quite well. Besides RB Evan Williams and LB Logan Dickerson, they graduate all of their big producers, but they expect last year’s young core to step up huge.

8/26: Camden | West Jersey Football League
The Panthers move up into Group 3 this season after bringing home the program’s first Group 2 state championship last year. Head Coach Rob Hinson turns to a young group that is hungry to prove themselves and maintain the championship standard at The High. Sophomore Greg Wyche takes over full time at quarterback, while Roman Duckett will be the lead option at running back after a great junior season. Daniel “Bear” Williams anchors the o-line, while Anthony Nelson and Naiim Presbery are the returning starters on defense. Camden competes in the rugged WJFL Classic Division this season. They will open up with Imhotep Charter (PA) in Week 0, and they will also head to Texas and the home of the film Friday Night Lights in Week 5 to take on Permian High School.

8/25: St. John Vianney | Shore Conference
St. John Vianney needs to replace 16 starters on a team that went 5-6 and featured a talented QB in Zach LaBarca who produced over 2000 yards of offense. The Lancers feature a pair of talented wideouts with Noah Fitzpatrick and Brayden Delavega, who had this 62 yard touchdown catch against Manalapan as part of his 22 catch season. Corleii Thomas ran for 500 yards and 6 TD’s last year as part of a three running back rotation. SJV opens the season Thursday at 10am when they take on Cedar Creek at Battle by the Beach.

8/25: Matawan | Shore Conference
The Huskies turned head with an upset of Somerville in the state playoffs. 17 starters return headlined by WR Cayson Wiliams who has picked up an offer from Temple. Matawan opens the season this Thursday at home against River Dell.

8/25: Winslow Twp. | West Jersey Football League
The Eagles begin a new chapter following a second-straight Group 4 state championship last season. Jamal White takes over for Bill Belton, bringing his own championship experience having helped Woodbury win a state title in 2022 as an assistant. Winslow will rally around Penn State commit Ka’Ron Ceaser, Monmouth commit Benji Carter, Toledo commit Andrew Kratee and a host of players eager to make an impact as they head into battle this season. It all starts for the Eagles in Week 0 when they face Neptune at the Battle in the Boro at Rowan University. Winslow will compete once again in the WJFL’s American Division and will face Non-Public B state title contender Red Bank Catholic in October.

8/25: East Orange | Super Football Conference
East Orange football started last season 8-1, but were shutout by eventual Group 5 finalists Passaic Tech in the sectional semifinals. The Jaguars return a sizable crop of stars for 2026 and their quest for their first sectional title since 2021. The defense is anchored by the defensive line, featuring DEs Esa Wittingburg (Wake Forest commit) and Sadiq Dues. Their other big star on that side is shutdown CB Eric Wilkins, who is committed to New Haven. After averaging eight yards per carry and scoring 12 touchdowns last year, Jaleel Halsey is back as EO’s starting RB. QB Zachary Concepcion also returns as starter for his senior year after showing great potential in his first year at the helm.
The Jaguars will open their season on Saturday 8/29 at home against Piscataway.

8/25: Delran | West Jersey Football League
It’s been quite the two-year stretch for Delran, with the Bears going 19-and-4, earning back-to-back postseason appearances and reaching the South Group 2 final in 2025. With a new group in place, the Bears are eager to build on that recent success and keep moving forward. For a second straight season, Delran will open at Rowan University, taking on a tough Cherry Hill East team after beating Bridgeton in last year’s opener.

8/25: Union City | Super Football Conference
The Soaring Eagles had its fifth straight winning season in 2025 but a 6-4 mark fell short of the previous 2 years where the Soaring Eagles won 21 games including a trip to the state finals. Union City opens the season this Thursday night when Teaneck comes to the famed rooftop Roosevelt Stadium.

8/24: Shore Regional | Shore Conference
The Blue Devils bring back one of the top returning rushers in New Jersey in Cole Torres who topped 1,600 yards and 18 touchdowns. Shore will play much larger schools in Class “B” North which should get them prepared to once again be a favorite to make a deep run in Central Jersey Group 1 where the Blue Devils have reached the last two championship games. Shore opens the season this Thursday hosting Red Bank Regional.

8/24: Bayonne | Super Football Conference
Coming off of their first sectional final berth since 2002, Bayonne football looks to live up to that standard in 2026. On offense, senior WR Jared Edwards is the lone skill position starter coming back after netting 750 yards of total offense and 12 touchdowns last season. He will also be factored into the run game heavily due to the loss of 1,800-yard rusher Chance Fischer. Defensively, the Bees bring back four starters, with the most experience found on their defensive line with the return of senior anchors DE Ethan Haynes and DT Aiden Brito. They are also stars on the offensive line which brings back 4/5 starters.
Two huge challenges on the Bees’ schedule are state finalists Passaic Tech (Sep. 11) and Shabazz (Sep. 26). They will open the season on Aug. 27 against Livingston.

8/24: Shawnee | West Jersey Football League
Shawnee is coming off a strong 2025 season, advancing to the sectional semifinals before falling to eventual state champion Winslow Township, with all three regular-season losses coming by three points or fewer. The Renegades return junior quarterback Cole Anderson, who accounted for 1,680 total yards and 17 touchdowns as a sophomore, while several new players prepare to take on larger roles. Shawnee will open the 2026 season against Old Bridge at the Battle at the Beach, marking the program’s first appearance in the event.

8/24: Atlantic City | West Jersey Football League
The Vikings will try to break through and bring home a long-awaited championship after a 10-2 finish and a second-straight sectional final appearance in 2025. Marvin Burroughs and a host of sophomores burst onto the scene and will be key factors again this season. Don’Taye Thompson, Ahmad Chambers, and Vish Turner are some of the names to watch on offense, where AC averaged over 30 points per game last year. UConn commit Javon Lane, All-Zone selection Omar Kelly, and Anas Newsome give the Viking defense a potent trio up front. AC opens up with a big test against Shabazz at the Battle at the Beach in Week 0, then kicks off a tough WJFL American Division slate when they face St. Augustine at the Mid-Atlantic Pigskin Classic in Delaware on Labor Day Weekend.

8/23: Neptune | Shore Conference
Neptune Football made a statement in 2025 with a 9-1 regular season and the program’s first playoff win since 2014. After gaining valuable postseason experience, the Scarlet Fliers will move up from D-North to C-North in 2026. Quarterback Caleb Brown returns after leading the team in passing and rushing with 2,383 offensive yards and 30 touchdowns. Neptune opens the season against Winslow Township at Rowan University, looking to carry last year’s momentum into a new season.

8/23: Monmouth Regional | Shore Conference
The Falcons jumped up from one to win to five last year and with quarterback Ryan Corwin returning, coach Dan Wendel’s team has high hopes to contend in the Shore Conference’s “D” North division. Monmouth Regional opens the season on the road this Thursday at Spotswood.

8/23: Morris Knolls | Super Football Conference
The Golden Eagles will be looking to bounce-back from four-win season in 2025 as several new faces enter the lineup after graduating 15 seniors. Gavin Toland and Ryan McDonald are back to lead this triple option attack and will look to follow up solid junior campaigns. Lucas Zuravnsky, Nick Wong, and Anthony Evaristo were among the leading tacklers last season and will form the nuclues on defense again in 2026. Morris Knolls opens up with Hamilton West at the Battle in the Boro in Week 0, then the Golden Eagles will host their first night game when they take on Morristown on September 18th.

8/22: Hopewell Valley | West Jersey Football League
The Bulldogs are coming off back-to-back divisional crowns and have hosted a playoff game in each of the past two seasons. Hopewell Valley returns leading rusher Ethan Valenza, who rushed for 308 yards and four touchdowns in Week 1 against Robbinsville. On defense, Benny Franco, Tony Noble, and Gavin Barker combined for five sacks and will anchor the Bulldogs’ defense. Hopewell Valley will face three out-of-conference opponents in 2026, with matchups against Burlington City, Seneca, and Montgomery, including a Week 0 meeting with Montgomery.

8/22: Pope John | Super Football Conference
Pope John followed up their 2024 state final run with a 2-8 record last season, but the Lions are looking to bounce back with experienced groups on both sides of the ball. Their defense returns six players, most notably junior CB and Power 4 prospect Yazir Register. Their linebacking corps is led by junior Tommy Walton and senior Kal Marone, who combined for 18 tackles for loss in 2025. The most experience is found on the defensive line which has all three starters coming back. On offense, the Lions have a new starting QB in junior Vic Fiore, and he has two of the team’s best weapons from last year at his disposal in RB Luke Gialanella and WR Zayne Carswell. Pope John will open the season on 8/27 against Washington Township at Ocean City’s Battle at the Beach.

8/22: Millville | West Jersey Football League
The Thunderbolts turned a 1-4 start into a sectional championship appearance in 2025. With most of the production returning from last year, the Bolts are primed for another deep playoff run this season. Reggie Holley emerged as a do-it-all threat for the offense and he’s back to lead the way with three-year starter Robbie O’Connor at QB, Temple commit Jaden Days at wideout, and Monmouth commit Issiah Thomas on the offensive line. Darnell Williams is one of five starters back on defense. Millville opens up with NY power Erasmus Hall at the Battle at the Beach in Week 0, and they will compete once again in the loaded WJFL American Division.

8/22: Middletown South | Shore Conference
Back to back four win seasons is unfamiliar territory for one of the Shore’s winningest public school programs. Coach Marc Tomo has installed “Restore the Standard” as the motto for the 2026 Eagles. Justin Rosado committed to Lehigh and is a top two way player running for 956 yards and 9 TD’s with 75 tackles, 3 sacks and 5 INT’s in his junior season. The Eagles open the season in Week 0 at Cherokee.

8/21: Livingston | Super Football Conference
Livingston enters 2026 after its best season in years, finishing 7-4 and reaching the North 1 Group 5 sectional semifinals. The Lancers have steadily climbed from one win to four to seven over the last three seasons and return one of the state’s most productive players in senior running back Abel Paul, who rushed for more than 2,300 yards and 25 touchdowns last fall. Senior quarterback Troy Naylor also returns to lead an experienced offense, while Livingston will work several new faces into a defense that graduated a large senior class. The Lancers open against Bayonne before facing West Orange one week later in an early test of how far the program has come.

8/21: Manalapan | Shore Conference
The Braves bring back 12 starters on a team that went 7-4, won a playoff game and enjoyed a five game win streak, but are hungry for more. All four losses were by a combined 11 points as Manalapan knows they could have had an even better season. Cameron Desfosse is back to lead the offense at QB while Nick Palmieri is a two way threat scoring 12 touchdowns on offense (six rushing, six receiving) and playing a key role on the Braves defense. Manalapan opens the season in Week 0 at home against Hillsborough.

8/21: West Orange | Super Football Conference
West Orange football is in a better place than they have ever been in their 100+ year history, and the Mountaineers hope that 2026 will be a new peak for the program. WO brings back seven starters on defense, including 3/4 of their D-line, headlined by NG Faheem Issah and Rutgers commit DE Sydney Padilla. Their linebacking corps is also stacked with Dylan Adams, Xavier Davis, and Israel Giles returning after combining for over 250 tackles in 2025. Offensively, QB Daniel Lewis will be the lone starting quarterback after splitting time with Brandon LaBanca last year. Lewis will have a new RB and a load of first time starters at WR to work with, and they will have plenty of help with an offensive line loaded with experience.
They will open their season against new fellow Group 5 team Ramapo on 8/27.

The Griffins bring back double-digit starters from a team that went 8-4 and made an apperance in the Non-Public B quarterfinals. Columbia commit Kahden Davis, UConn commit Jason Madden, and East Carolina commit Jael Hester are the headliners for a deep senior class that is motivated to go even furth this season. Donovan opens up with reigning sectional champion Kingsway at the Battle in the Boro at Rowan University in Week 0, then they turn their attention to the loaded Shore Conference A-South division slate.

8/20: Sayreville | Big Central Conference
After missing the playoffs in 2024, Sayreville bounced back in 2025 by going 8-1 in the regular season and reaching the sectional semifinals, where they lost to Old Bridge by one point. The Bombers lose 1,977-yard rusher Shaun Jackson to graduation but return key seniors like Sherwin Appiah and Chiemerie Attah, who both made contributions last season. With a hungry senior class and tough matchups against Piscataway, Somerville, and Old Bridge, Sayreville is motivated to finish the job in 2026.

8/20: Wall | Shore Conference
The Crimson Knights overcame an 0-2 start to roll off nine wins on the way to reaching a section championship. With 14 starters returning, Wall has the tools to make another deep post-season run as it will navigate the daunting Shore Conference “A” North division. Franny Scaramellino returns to quarterback after playing in the secondary during his junior season. He’ll be protected by an offensive line that features four returning starters. Wall opens the season with a big matchup against Brick Memorial in Week 0.

8/20: Mount Olive | Super Football Conference
Mount Olive enters 2026 after winning 25 games over the last three seasons and reaching the sectional semifinals in each of those years, including a North 2 Group 4 championship in 2023. Senior running back Brayden Longo returns after rushing for more than 1,300 yards and setting a school record with 22 rushing touchdowns last fall, while also scoring four times in the return game. The Marauders also bring back plenty of experience on both sides of the ball, including Malcolm Gilyard, Jared Martini and Justin Reed, as they look to build on an 8-2 season and make another run in Group 4.

8/20: Cedar Grove | Super Football Conference
Cedar Grove has made the Group 1 title game the last two years, but fell to Glassboro each time. Now, with Glassboro moving up to Group 2, the Panthers look to take advantage of a wide open group. Their air raid offense will continue into 2026 with new starting QB sophomore Dan LaStella, who looks to fill the shoes of two straight 3,000 yard passers. Senior WR Jake Catanzarite will lead a new crop of starters to aid LaStella in his first year. Catanzarite is also a star CB who, along with guys like S Jack Velonas, could make it hard for teams to pass against the Panthers. Their most experience returns at the offensive line with three returning starters including Lafayette commit RT Bryce Kent and LT Evan Skabich.

8/20: Passaic Tech | Super Football Conference
After making a run to the North 1 Group 5 sectional title and the state championship game in 2025, Passaic Tech enters 2026 determined to finish the job. The Bulldogs return all of their starting offensive linemen, including Boston College commit Jayden Paulino at left tackle and Zachary Rosario at center. They also bring back key playmakers in receiver and defensive back Tyson Watkins, who led the team with 645 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, and UCF commit Ian McDuffie, who totaled 113 tackles and four forced fumbles while also contributing more than 500 receiving yards and five touchdowns. With a strong core returning on both sides of the ball, Passaic Tech has its sights set on another deep postseason run-and this time, a state championship.

8/20: Brick Memorial | Shore Conference
The Mustangs broke through to win a section championship as 19-year head coach Walt Currie stepped down following a special 10-3 season. Longtime assistant James Mahoney is the new head coach and the players are clearly comfortable in the transition during summer workouts. The Mustangs need to replace one of the best passing combos in New Jersey with QB Jason Lajara and WR Nyzier Matthews, but there are 11 returning starters from last year including Jaxon Ellis and Jaxon Pacheco on the line. Brick Memorial opens the season with a huge showdown against Wall in Week 0.

8/20: West Deptford | West Jersey Football League
The Eagles took a big leap forward as they finished 9-2 with a sectional semifinal appearance a year ago. They bring back a deep and experience senior class that will look to take another step forward as they seek the program’s first sectional title in 11 years. 1,000 yard rushers Zamir Davis and Cole Paskiewicz are back to lead the way on offense, while Charles Schriver enters his fourth season anchoring the offensive line. Michael Joseph, Al Dayrell, and TJ Cross are part of a veteran-led defense that brings back all eleven starters from a season ago. West Deptford opens up in Week 0 with a matchup against Kinnelon at the Battle at the Beach, and they will compete in the WJFL’s Constiution Division this season.

8/19: Plainfield | Big Central Conference
Former Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots wide receiver Donald Jones begins his second season leading the Cardinals who went 4-6 last year. Tymir Huff had 60 catches for 919 yards and 11 TD catches in 2025 with Kiian Jones making a huge impact as a freshman with 38 catches for 479 yards and 5 TD’s. The Cardinals won the Jets 7 on 7 tournament over the summer and opens the season at Sayreville in Week 0.

8/19: Westwood | Super Football Conference
Westwood enters 2026 after another championship season, finishing 11-2 and capturing the North 1 Group 2 sectional title. The Cardinals have now won 32 games over the last three seasons while continuing to find success with different groups. Junior quarterback Bruno Vega returns after accounting for more than 1,700 total yards and 22 touchdowns as a sophomore, and Westwood also brings back its top three receiving targets in Tyler Hanson, Nick Klein and Ed Rasmussen. The Cardinals will look to keep that consistency rolling while opening the season against Manasquan at the Jim Grasso Classic and later getting a rematch with Ramsey after last year’s sectional championship win.

8/19: Hillsborough | Big Central Conference
Hillsborough is entering the 2026 season with a young, motivated roster after reaching the playoffs for the fifth straight year in 2025. Led by returning quarterback Cooper Wright and key contributors Jeff Progin, Jack Murphy, and Joandel Nebot, the Raiders are emphasizing chemistry and a strong program culture as they prepare for a challenging schedule. Hillsborough opens the season on the road against Manalapan before BCC matchups with Phillipsburg, Bridgewater-Raritan, and Montgomery.

8/19: West Morris | Super Football Conference
West Morris enters 2026 after finishing 12-1 and capturing the North 2 Group 3 sectional championship, the program’s fourth sectional title in the last five seasons. The Wolfpack rushed for more than 4,500 yards last fall and return two of their top offensive weapons in Deacon Frayne and Brody Mansolino. West Morris will look to keep the same physical identity that has powered its recent run of success while another group steps into larger roles around an experienced core. The Wolfpack open the season with rival Mendham as they begin another run at a sectional title.

8/19: Toms River North | Shore Conference
The Mariners come into 2026 with a point to prove after a young team saw a run of three-straight Group 5 state titles come to an end last year. Duke commit Jack Baker is back to lead what could be one of the best defenses in the Shore Conference along with Finn Boland and Kam’ron Morse. Cole Garrison will be the focal point offensively for TRN as he will form a 1-2 punch with Lucas Elias in the backfield. Toms River North opens up with a tough matchup against Northern Highlands in Week 0 before they turn their attention to the Shore Conference A-South Division slate.

8/19: Shabazz | Super Football Conference
After their second straight loss in the Group 2 title game, the Shabazz Bulldogs bring back a *huge* bulk of their cast for 2026 as they search for their first state crown in the state championship era. Their WR and CB corps are once again anchored by the two leaders at the positions in juniors Nosym Brown and Nasir Richardson, the No. 11 recruit in the entire 2028 class. The entire linebacking group is also back: Faheem Ausbon, Asaad Reynolds, and their 2nd-all time leading tackler Zykir Best. The Bulldogs also have an experienced D-line led by Vanderbilt commit DE Adekunbi Adetayo. Offensively, senior QB Karriem Coston returns to his starting role and is joined by another veteran crop in RBs Ausbon and Yazeed Sharif as his backfield.
Shabazz moves up to Group 3 in 2026 after their recent Group 2 success, and their schedule reflects that heavier competition. The Bulldogs face five Group 5s to start the year including Atlantic City (8/27), Passaic Tech (9/4), and West Orange (9/18) their first three games.

8/18: Ramapo | Super Football Conference
Ramapo football has won three straight sectional titles, but have yet to win the big one in the state title era. Last year, the Raiders fell to Winslow in the Group 4 state title game, and they hope to turn over a new leaf with a new cast on the field as just four starters return. Three of the starters come back for a defense anchored by the LB corps of Jack Schneider and Cole Seyffer. Offensively, only RG Martin Shifar returns as sophomore QB Luke Magerko and junior RB Joey Gorga make up the brand new backfield.
The Raiders make the jump up to Group 5 in 2026 and have four G5 opponents in the regular season, along with their always difficult Liberty Red foes. They will open their season on 8/27 against West Orange.

8/18: Colts Neck | Shore Conference
Colts Neck enters 2026 with 12 returning starters after a young group gained valuable varsity experience during last year’s 2-7 season. One of the biggest questions comes at quarterback, where juniors Johnny Palazzolo, Chace Staback and Aleks Fleyshman are competing for the starting job. The Cougars return seven starters on defense, including James Scully and Miles Baum, while Mike Arminante is expected to take on a larger role in the backfield. Colts Neck also moves into Class D North this fall and will look to use its added experience to get back to the winning form the program showed from 2019 through 2023.

A new chapter begins for the Rams with Matt Abbato taking over for legendary head coach Chuck Donohue Sr. in 2026. The Rams bring back most of its key contributors from a team that went 9-2 last season as they move up into the Shore’s A-South division. Carson Abbato is back to lead the way at quarterback, while the supporting cast features two-way standouts Luke Iorio, Chris Raub, Niko Iliescu, and Lukas Iliescu. Southern opens the season against Bridgeton at the Battle at the Beach in Week 0.

Franklin enters 2026 with momentum after finishing 5-4 last fall, the program’s first winning season in 13 years. Senior quarterback Jah’naad Cady returns after throwing for 1,350 yards and 13 touchdowns while adding 964 yards and 13 more scores on the ground. Running back Michael Rogers is also back after rushing for 893 yards and a team-leading 14 touchdowns. The Warriors have increased their win total in each of Blair Wilson’s first four seasons and will look to continue that climb while chasing their first playoff appearance since 2012.

After losing to No. 7 seed Matawan 13-12 in the Central Group 3 first round, Somerville wants to return to the kind of success they had in 2024 where they made it to the state semifinals. The Pioneers bring back their starting quarterback Dylan Boehm after making a huge offseason leap from his freshman year. They also return two of their better offensive skill players in RB Justin Bowen and WR James Hampton, the two combining for 1,450 yards of total offense in 2025. After losing their third straight heartbreaker in a sectional final, Northern Highlands is poised to make the fourth time a charm and then some in 2026. The Highlanders are built in the trenches, and both lines bring back plenty of experience, namely Penn State commit LT/DE Carter Blattner and Bucknell commit RT/NG Jack Woods. At the skill positions, 1,200-yard rusher and Army commit Tucker Kanning is now the bellcow back after splitting reps with Chase Calarco last year. WR Doyle Flatt is the only returner at the position and is mentoring a new crop of guys who will be catching passes from a new quarterback. Senior Justin Kolakowski and sophomores Cole Vinci and Jack Branagh are in an open competition.

8/14: Old Tappan | Super Football Conference
The Golden Knights’ season dominant 12-0 season ended with a convincing loss to Cedar Creek in the Group 3 state final, but they have a whole hoard of talent coming back for a try at two state crowns in three years. QB Zach Miceli is back after a North Jersey-best 2,500 yards and 31 touchdowns, and he retains his top targets in TE Shane Small and WR Leo Etter. Defensively, Small switches from DE to LB alongside Nick Blanchard and John Bilali to create one of the more star-studded linebacking corps in North Jersey public ball. They will have to replace Devyn Radoian and Damian Du Toit at the RB position as Blanchard, along with Julius Lai, are taking most of the reps in practice.
Just like last year, Old Tappan will face teams like Wayne Hills, Northern Highlands, and Ramapo, but as division foes in SFC-Liberty Red. Playing for a division title against these squads makes the games mean that much more to them.

The Ironmen were two quarters away from a perfect season before losing in a 24-21 war to St. Joe’s-Montvale at MetLife Stadium in the Non-Public “A” state championship game. Delbarton went 4-6 last year after three consecutive .500 or better seasons, but they see it as just a bump in the road. Offensively, the Green Wave lost big pieces such as TE/leading receiver Grant Van Raaphorst (transfer), but they bring back junior QB Gavin Gilardi and senior RB Kobe Irby-Mason for their second years as starters. They also return their nearly their entire starting offensive line, all of which are seniors. Defensively, a new crop of starters will have to step up as all six of their leading tacklers graduated.
Delby is back in the United White division this year, but have United Red teams Don Bosco, Bergen Catholic, and St. Joe’s (Mont.) on the schedule. They will open the year with two out-of-state games: @ Gilman (Md.) on 8/29 and vs. Erasmus Hall (N.Y.) on 9/4.

After two consecutive undefeated seasons and a pair of Group 1 state championships, Glassboro is embracing new challenges as they move into Group 2 and move up in the West Jersey Football League this season. Oregon commit Xavier Sabb and North Carolina commit Ta’sheem Butler lead a highly decorated senior class into battle as they seek a third-straight state championship. The Bulldogs will be tested with a Week 0 clash against Immaculata at the Battle in the Boro at Rowan University, and will face fellow state champions Cedar Creek (9/19) and Camden (10/16) as part of the WJFL Classic Division.

8/12: Hoboken | Super Football Conference
The Red Wings are coming off their first state final appearance since 2005, and they return most of their heavy hitters on both sides of the ball. Among these two ways stars are RB/LB Devin McMillan and WR/CB Jae’on Walker who each had career years in 2025. N.Y. transfer QB Kyle Mercorelli has to sit the first four games, but sophomore Aidan Ben-Meir has the skill to hold down the fort and prove he can be their QB of the future.
It will be tougher to run the tables with teams like Weequahic, Cedar Grove, and Westwood on the schedule, but they feel that last year set a new standard that makes an undefeated year achievable once again.

8/12: Hudson Catholic | Super Football Conference
Tarig Holman comes to Jersey City and looks to build another winning program in New Jersey. Holman spent last season on Augie Hoffmann’s staff at state champ St. Joe’s-Montvale and returns to the head coaching ranks. The Hawks have a young nucleus that will look to move up from last season’s 3-7 mark.

8/11: St. Peter’s Prep | Super Football Conference
The Marauders will spend August finding their next quarterback but the surrounding talent have already made their mark in the rigors of SFC play. 5-star offensive lineman and Notre Dame commit Olu Olubobola will open the holes for talented running back Abdul Turay while the defense has one of the most talented and deep secondaries in all of the country headlined by Ty’ire Clark (Michigan State) and Ryan Wooten (BYU). Three Bergen Catholic transfers bolster the defensive unit as well.
The Marauders open the season August 29 in Florida facing Dillard and will open SFC play with a huge showdown against Bergen Catholic on September 18.

8/11: Paramus Catholic | Super Football Conference
The Paladins reached their first state title game since 2016 last year, but fell to DePaul in the Non-Public B final. Now, they return an incredible crop of talent determined to return PC back to the ranks of New Jersey’s elite. Senior RB and Penn State commit Chu Odoh will get a huge share of the touches on offense coming off a 900-yard season. The receiving corps returns their two leading receivers in Temple commit Nehki Martin and 4-star recruit AJ Lopez. Lopez will also lead the secondary along with Virginia Tech commit Austin Barrett. The biggest question that remains is who will be the starting quarterback with a battle ongoing between last year’s co-starter junior Rowan Martin and the nationally-touted sophomore transfer from Bergen Catholic Walker Snee.
The Paladins will open their gauntlet of a season at Battle at the Beach on 8/28 against national power La Salle (Pa.). Their already tough schedule within the United Red division also features games against St. James (Va.) and Hun.

8/11: Notre Dame | West Jersey Football League
Markell Harrison spent nine years at Don Bosco Prep, serving as the school’s defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator. Now, the former West Virginia quarterback finds himself at the helm of Notre Dame High School. Harrison brings his #HateToLose mentality to the Mercer County program, where he and his staff are focused on building a Non-Public contender in Lawrence Township.

8/10: Phillipsburg | Big Central Conference
The Stateliners won their second straight sectional title in 2025 and, just like last season, they replace many starters on both sides of the ball. However, this year they retain their starting quarterback as junior Dominic Bracco returns under center. Their running game will have to reload, though, as Shane Moore leads a backfield looking to replace the efforts of players 1,500 yard rusher Sam Dech and fullback Tyler Wargo who is out for the season with a torn ACL. Defensively, the ‘Liners return DE Elijah Montgomery, and head coach Frank Duffy says that the new crop is rising to the occasion.
Phillipsburg will kick off their season with three games against Pennsylvania opponents from their former days in the Eastern Penn Conference, starting with Parkland on 8/28. This slate, also including Emmaus and Freedom, gives them two common opponents with Easton ahead of their 119th meeting on Thanksgiving.

8/10: St. Joe’s-Montvale | Super Football Conference
The Green Knights finished 2025 as the top team in New Jersey after winning the Non-Public “A” state championship with a thrilling 25-21 win over Don Bosco Prep at MetLife Stadium. The quest to repeat begins with two high profile national games starting in Mount Carmel, Indiana in Week 0 on ESPN. St. Joe’s brings back a loaded defense headlined by DE Chaz Gray (Washington), LB Tahj Gray (over 40 offers) and DB Jonathan Gallette (Penn State). Stalin Knowlden brings experience back at wide receiver and will look to lead the offensive group that will earn their spots in August training camp.

8/10: Rancocas Valley | West Jersey Football League
The Red Devils are rallying around a solid core of returning starters after a 2025 season saw a 4-0 start derailed by injuries. RV has the pieces in place to make it a special fall as they look to get back into the championship mix in Group 5. Syracuse commit Mikey McQueen headlines the Red Devils on both sides of the ball at wide receiver and in the secondary. Villanova commit Thomas Ajasin leads what could be a ferocious defensive line that includes David Ogunsola and Michael Beasley, who combined for 24.5 sacks in 2025. Rancocas Valley kicks off the season at the Battle at the Beach against Wayne Valley in Week 0, then they will battle it out for the WJFL Colonial Division title.

The Knights earned their first playoff win in eight seasons, advancing to the program’s first sectional final since 2012. With eight starters returning, including the state’s fifth-leading receiver, junior Amari Alsbrook; dynamic RB/WR Chase Rizzo; and Syracuse commit/offensive lineman Connor Long, Old Bridge is looking to build on a special season, which gets underway in Week 0 against Shawnee in Ocean City at the Battle at the Beach.
