The Golden Eagles scored a pair of runs in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings and AJ Smith went the distance on a six-hitter to give Central a spot in the Ocean County Tournament quarterfinals. Vance Pelino blasted a two run homer in the second to get the scoring started. Tyler Aires delivered a two run single in the 3rd and a Mike Bickford sacrifice fly and Tom Ruscitti RBI single made it a 6-0 Central lead. Smith was efficient on the hill especially in the final three innings and threw a complete game on just 86 pitches. Central will face top seed Toms River South in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
